To Master BE and CH, you need Medic 0-0-04 and Scout 4-0-0-4.

With no Pharmacology boxes, your Medicine Use skill would be +5, the only stims you can use would be Stim-A's. Are Stim-A's good enough on the harder planets?

If I can survive with Stim-A heals, I've come up with this template:

Marksman 4-0-0-1

Medic 0-0-0-4

Scout 4-0-4-0

Master Bio-Engineer

Master Creature Handler

Rifleman 4-0-0-0

you can use B-stems and be able to make them with med crafting you need for novice BE...

Marksman 4-0-0-1

Medic 0-0-0-4

Scout 4-0-4-0

Master Bio-Engineer

Master Creature Handler

Rifleman 4-0-0-0

Rifleman is a great profession, but to be efficent at it you'll need to be master... its not a dabblers profession.... but if you still want to do it, the Sniper line is not what you need (its more PvP oriented)... i'd go with 0/0/0/4 if i had to only use the few SP, but that all combat exp there so it'll take forever to get to that point... your best bet sould be the Rifleman 0/1/3/0... this give you concealshot (rifleman's bread and butter) and flushingshot2 (AoE attack)... your speed is going to be horrible though...

heres the template i'd recomend...

MCH

MBE

Scout 4/0/4/0

Brawler 4/0/0/0

TKA 4/0/0/0

Medic 0/0/0/4 (use the last 2 SP in one of the empty boxes)

the reason i say TKA is with the meditate line you get powerbost, and the ability to cure bleeding, poision, disease, and wounds just by sitting there... with novice TKA buffed, drunk, and unarmored i was doing savage quenker lairs solo (stun/blind/intimidate/spam unarmedhit2_... also when you are out sampleing the big nastys to make the best pets you need to close to them... if they agro, you have a better chance of surviving with unarmed than with a rifle (-60 accuracy point blank)... get you pets to attack and pick up the agro and you do the damage... plus you are in healing rango of your pets already, so drop a petstem and then a med stem right after each other (they are on seperate healing timers)...

i know you were looking at a ranged profession, so my advice would be

Marksman 0/4/0/0

Pistoleer 0/0/4/0 (fan shot and stoping shot are really nice attacks)

then drop the last SP in medic or ranged support...

when holo'scame outi had novice pistoleer and was working towards MCH, but then i had a little of everything except brawler... and i was killing graul lairs with just my GSP and pistol (it was hard to do then, now it would be alot easier)...

so yes MCH/MBE and some pistoleer or TKA dabbleing can be effective combo as long as you have good tanks for pets... as a MBE you should be able to make a pair of AR1 60% kin res that equal lvl 70 or below, plus you can harvest your own meat/hide/bone... plus find a chef and keep them stocked with BE food/drink enhancements and you'll have no worries about money...

I can just see a "Wait for the Combat Revamp" and "Wait for the Smuggler Revamp" quote all rolled into one.

Find a master doc friend. I have one who gave me a crate of 49 stim Bs (28 uses, 600-700ish), for free, and another crate for 20k (she only asked for 10k, but I couldnt freeload that much).

Maybe it's just me, but when I was doing BE, I found that the creatures I made long before master, were better as fars as CL vs. tanking ability. The reason for this is that when I was a master, my experiments were too good, and bumped up the CL a lot, my first few pets were some of my best tanks at CL 14 and 16. Obviously they didn't have armor, but a 10k HAM 42% kinetic resist level 14 tanks pretty darn good So in summary, you can save some points on BE and go up an elite marksman profession.

sorry to break it to you but if you want ot "solo" your going to need a combat profession.

I'm currently

medic 2/0/4/0 (why bother making your own when you can buy? I did FA 2 so I could stop my pets from bleeding and Pharm 4 so I could use stim D's)

scout 4/0/4/1(never did use traps so I lost that tree, and I kept Forage)

Brawler 4/0/4/0 (UA4 for obvious reasons and 2 handed for a bleed sword)

Master CH (from day 1 I've wanted this)

and Master TK (as a master I can heal any wounds other then BF and solo just about anything)

while I can see some potential to your choises I highly recomend you pad with a combat class so you can survive, ever try and defend your self from a pissed off animal you just sampled? you might die.

I tried BE and found it wasn't as rewarding as the hunt to tame...if you seriously want to get a couple BE pets you can usualy purchase them fairly easily.

Just my .2 credits worth
