Thread: Hope may lie in reinvention... Consider this spin to save CH.

heres my solution: leave Ch is the game. thank you and plz go to the droid engineer forums because you obviously dont understand the issues of CH
You obviously dont know who I am. I'll leave it at that.
I will say this. It is you that doesnt get it. Not I. CH is looking at the business end of a gun, and you're still ranting about about how I dont see the reality of the situation.
Heres the reality... if you dont figure out an acceptable solution to the CH issues... and trust me, I've already stated what those are based on developer commentary, then EVERY aspect of CH is doomed.
I know full well what CH is about. The very things you guys drone on about are the very things I've alwayshated about CH. Obviously 99% of the player population felt even stronger then I did.
Thats the reality ladies and gentlemen.

you seem an intelligent man. tell me why you are even here trying to discuss anything right now.
less than 24 hours after they announce our favorite profession is being removed. do you really think people are capable at this point.
You'l be happy to know this will be my last post here. But truthfuly you really should stop and think before making suggestions here right now. Try supporting us rather than coverting us.
This threadis troll heaven since all it will do is enflame me and probably the majority of ch.
Good day and as far as this thread goes. good night.
Trust me, I know PERSONALLY the business ethic that runs SOE. I've seen it first hand. You guys fling words like trust around like its toilet paper. Get over it. Its a game. If you feel so strongly, then you might try what I'm trying and offer a solution. I'm not here to convert, I'm here to save what I can.
Get a grip.

what you fail to realize is they are getting rid of all forms of "pet" in the game. they dont want you to use pets thats the whole purpose why we are getting the axe. so your idea wont work when all they want is to get rid of all pet type professions. its not gonna happen. plus why dont you atleast try to save the profession instead of kissing SOEs ass
Again, you totally misunderstand my relationship with SOE. Why dont you grow up?
Oh and by the way I AM TRYING TO SAVE THE PROFESSION MORON. Do you even read these posts?

Since a recent astromech report put us in the top 50% of the player choices I think perhaps we should stop repeating the 1% lie that Tiggs gave us. It gives them too much credibitlty.

I salute the passion of my fellow CHs but urge them to be kind to one of their own (Quantum) and I salute Quantum for making an effort.
Ooh! Ooh! (Quoth Officer Toody on "Car 54 Where Are You")
Is creature training part of "domestic" skills?
Are mounts going away entirely, or are they going to be available only as "reward" or "loot" items?
There are massive problems with balancing groups of creatures in combat. However, making creature capture and trainingTrader skills, loosening up the mount and pet system tospread high-CL certifications around, andallowing other professions to use pets in supportive combat roles could be workable. This does split the profession abilities, such that a trader specializing in creature taming and training might not be able to use the combat-support creatures. Weaponsmiths, armorsmiths, and droid engineers are in similar situations, in that they currently cannot use many of the items they make. This notion also matches with recent changes in pet abilities, focusing more on specials instead of direct attack.
I'm not a CH, but I think CH's are getting most shafted by the changes. The CHs I know are also the people most attached to their profession. I don't want to see you loosing your pets.

A creature is warm and fuzzy and loveable.
-Indene- (No I didn't like the Tim Woodsman that much either)
Please keep in mind, I do realize this. The hard reality is, its being given the ax for all the reasons above. Warm and fuzzy as they are (thinking of how rancors fit in that?), they are still being given the ax.
I realize that a droid is not an adorable icon... and yet they can be, just not in the same way as you've experienced in the past. Its a matter of how this system is delivered. Think of Star Wars Battlefront and the droid army guys that make all kinds of funny sounding comments. They can have their own brand of emotion attached to them. I figure it will only be different.
My question is, do you want to work with the devs on a way to save at least some aspect of our playstyle, or do you want to keep trying to have it your way... and die as a profession for it?
As I see it, these are your only choices.
I for one like the minion playstyle. I want to keep it. If they dont like CH, I'll take this as an alternative. This concept meets the devs half way.
