Thread: do you ever use 3 pets at a time?

yeah, I guess the BE influx (I did most my CHing before BEs got overhauled) did a lot to increase the fighting chances of MCHs. Having three pets out each with tanking abilities to rival a regular level 60 wild animal really allows you a lot of time to bring the enemy down. Can be a pain to heal them after a huge fight

There is, or at least was, indeed a bug that allows pet combinations higher and sometimes much higher then 70, but I hadn't figured out exactly what caused it. If I'd pull out one pet first, then another, then a third, I'd be able to get to like level 93 IIRC. If I'd pull out the second pet, then the first, it would already tell me it was too high (the sum of those two alone made 71). It seemed to be a thing with BE pets, but when I did more testing, not all BE pets showed the same thing.

I recall I used a single pet at all times because I simply never did any meatlump killing. The situations I'd go for would get one of my Wrix's killed every time, so I wasn't quite prepared to do that

and off-topic again, I wish they'd made Mottled Wrix's level 70 with appropriate stats. I just love mine becausefor some reason Mottled Wrix'swould often not agro me.Another player would walk by and the mottled's of the pack would go berserk instantly, then come back to the group and just lie down next to me, that was just so incredibly cool I spent the next week of playtime doing nothing but get CH XP to get enough skill to tame one. I'm still sad I could never use her in a difficult fight or her 4500 HAM would be taken down way too quick for me to heal, hence the desire for a 10K HAM high armour version (and having a BE'd gurreck just ain't the same)

I love the cats! I used to use 3 GSPs named Tic, Tac and Toe for a long time. They were an awesome trio. Then along came the nerf bat. I now use a wild Gurreck, (lvl 50) and a BE Gurreck (lvl 20). I send in the 50 and let him start the fray then send in the 20. He doesn't hit for a lot but it all helps. I really miss hunting with the 3 GSPs though, and they didn't stand on top of each other back then either. Now, unless you work at placing them, they all stand in the same spot and look like a blob of matter. Oh well, maybe they will fix CH again, but it sure doesn't look promising.

3 pets out are way more trouble than they're worth. BE's cannot make very good level 23 pets that can take the type of abuse, say on Dathomir or Endor and even to a lesser extent, Lok. You'll end up burning through a lot of Stims and losing Pet Vitality. Not only that, but it is very difficult to control 3 pets at once, you get a lot of problems with pets stopping, autostoring, running away or chasing enemies away, etc.

If I'm fighting Mobs, I'll usually pull out 2 well-made BE CL35 Gurrecks. I use one to tank and the other for protection, should one of the Mobs attempt to take a stab at me.

For most occasions, I use 1 CL68 or CL69 BE'd Gurreck as my main tank (they Deal more Damage and have higher Resists, which means less Healing).

Gurrecks are my preferred Tank of choice because they have very few pathing issues in comparison to some of the other species and keep up well with most vehicles.

Once in a blue moon, I will pull out my 2 razors and my gsp. Not very often, though, the razors take hits too easily.

I do use three pets when I can However, inevitably one of them always seems to auto-store or slow crawl almost immediatly so it usually ends up being two anyway.

I have three out all the time, but it's because I'm in front of Coronet Starport selling them, generally. Sometimes I'll pull out two (generally my CRC's, Saang and Guinn) to lope behind my mount, but I get sick of having to heal them any time I run into something like, oh, tabbages.

I hear you here.

I remember using a Squill and a Male Mamien for CL35. They were an interesting pair. Unfortunately when the Devs decided that having one CL50 and a mount would be better than having 3 pets out (which is why they attempted to remove our 3rd pet) they kinda eliminated the usefulness of 3. Although I still bring out 3 when I can when just sitting around in camp, but not for fighting. My third pet is my Probot.

It's been forever since I've had 3 pets out at once. My datapad is full of CL30+ creatures (over half are over CL 40), so having more than 2 out is impossible. Many are rare or just favorite pets, the rest HAVE to be combat-effective so their CLs tend to be high. I miss the days of coming up with interesting combos...that were NOT bio-engineered!

Since the great nerfing, the only reason to have out more than one pet is if you're into self-torture.

I use 4 pets. 3 creatures and 1 droid. My own personal army

I have 3 Veermok's I made, Moe, Larry, and Curly. Plus I have my harvest/fighter bot, Hoover. The Veermok's are my specially made Kinetic tanks, all have 10K Health, and 60% Kinetic. So they're nice to have around. But against guys that shoot guns, they aren't as effective. But it's nice to see them gang up on someone.

The only effective combination of 3 pets I use aren't all creature pets. One trapping droid, one mount and one tank.

Give me a shadowed forest into which I might disappear.
Give me a terrible foe and stack the odds against me.
Give me friends and creatures with whom I can share my adventures, my losses and my gains.
Let the gales blow and the world be torn asunder but don't make me stand alone against the tempest.

I never have 3 pets and only rarely use 2 pets since I am of the 1 high level pet tank variety of MCH.
