Creature Handler Archive

I've said it before and I'll say it again--they messed up by setting this game inside the star wars trilogy timeline--this limits us in so many ways. I guess the thought was that people wouldn't be as interested if the known characters weren't somehow involved. We didn't need an Empire, or a Rebel Alliance, we have the abillity to form our own groups called guilds. Now, every time someone has an idea about content, we have to check continuity. Imagine if this game was set 500k years in the future or more....you could refer to the movie era as legend, and look for ancient artifacts or whatever, but it wouldn't limit how we could expand. We could have worlds and playable species never mentioned in the movies or EU. Being a large enough guild could mean taking over certain systems for their resources and defending them...your guild could become the next "Empire" and impose your will over the galaxy--well, until the smaller guilds form an alliance to boot your butt! I don't know, maybe they made this decision to keep things somewhat simple--I just see the possibilities, and am left feeling a little let down.
