Thread: I want more planets
Yes I agree. Some new planets to explore that don't allow player cities. Gads it terrible what has happened to Dantooine and Lok. There are a ton of planets that would be really fun to find. I think they had better not add that planet that has the creatures that neutralize the force. At least not until Jedi's can do a whole lot better then they are doing now.

Hoth, hmmmm.......wonder if the Wampa would be tamable. ![]()
Unfortunately, for those of you wanting 'new' pets, Hoth would inevitably yield the Taun-Taun, which would be a re-skinned Cu-Pa (even though technically it is the other way around, iow....the TaunTaun came before the Cu Pa in official SW lore).
Putting aside for the moment the gameplay and continuity difficulties that would arise with putting Dagobah or Kashyyk (sp?) into the game (I'm guessing you only gave them as possible examples anyway), it sounds like what you're really asking for is more unique creature models overall, which isn't necessarily tied to the number of available planets. I'd love to see more creature models, as much as double the current number or more, just on the ten planets we already have. I completely agree that seeing "spineflaps" on Naboo and "corellian butterflies" on Corellia ceased to make each planet feel unique a very long time ago for me.
Unfortunately, part of the reason that we have so many duplicated models, with just the names, sizes, and colorations changed, is that creating even a single unique model is a fairly time-intensive task for the modelers & artists. Given how busy that crew probably is right now with models for ships, asteroids, and so forth, I wouldn't put too much hope in getting a host of new creature types really soon. Still doesn't hurt to ask, though.
The problem with Dagobah is that the current storyline is set between Episodes IV and V. Luke hasn't even found it yet at this point in the timeline. They would have to accelerate the timeline far enough ahead (at the very minimum, to either after Master Yoda diesin ROTJ or to after Luke first trains with him in ESB) to keep things vaguely canon. And to be honest, to preserve game continuity and keep it interesting, I feel they definitely WILL accelerate the timeline ahead that far, slowly but surely.
As far as Hoth goes, that's an automatic easy one they could give us. We are Post-Episode IV, the Rebels are seeking out a new planet to establish a base on now that the Death Star has been destroyed.
A friend of mine that has been in the game a long, long time told me that there will be no new planets unless the planets that can be inhabited get close to full, but that could just be a rumor.
