The problem isn't that pets are too weak, it is that buffs and composite have made players way to strong. The whole reason the newer dungeons are so ridiculous is because they have to be to give a challenge to power players with unreal composite specials, unreal HAM, and a pack full of powerful stims. SOE unbalanced the game by introducing this BS and hopefully will remove or inhibit a lot of it.

I went to Rori and walked around for 2 hours killing anything and everything. I was wearing ubese and head shot 3 spamming everything non-stop. I had as much as 4 ravenous tortons on me and just stood there. No one should be able to do that and definitely not solo a krayt. I see people whining that the game is boring and I see why. Where is the challenge when you can take on anything without worrying. It is the challenge that keeps a game fresh and soloing everything just to see what loot you can get will get boring fast.

So do we want to be just as good as all the other professions? Sure, of course, but its not that were useless. I don't think any class shy of a master Jedi should be able to solo a Kryat Dragon. Besides the guy that did that likely used up an expensive set of armor, a passel of stims, and paid millions of credits for his equipment. He at best got a pearl off of the thing. Whoopie!

I am MCH/ BME/ Merchant 3-0-0-1 and have 0 Combat skills, I can take out Mutant Rancors with my squill and a homemade pet without taking much damadge at all, the trick is specials. And knowing how to use them, just sending your pet in on his own to fight without the right specials or combos he is going to die or need a lot of healing.

If the combat balance is real, we should be in good shape.
