Thread: Swimming mounts and combat a question from a BH

I don't know about the rest of you, but I've about had it with the biggest group of crybaby asshats in the game: Jedi.
I throw out my newest phrase: Jedi didnt ruin the game, incompetance did.
Once upon a time, we could attack while swimming. Then for some unknown reason, they changed it so we couldnt attack. Yet low and behold, mobs still could, and for a time being, pets could too.
Currently you or your pet cannot attack while swimming. If you are able to, it either may be 1) you hit a shallow spot so you or your pet are able to stand, or 2) a bug
By SOE's definition, use of a bug to do something that the game does not it intend MAY be considered an exploit, tho not necessarily will it be deemed one nor would any action necessarily be taken against the player(s) that use this bug. (Look at how many weaponsmiths got away with the no-serial geo cube bug to mass produce scythes).
The game is dynamic...thus when you find a way to gain advantage....invariably someone will figure a way to negate that advantage. Jedi had the safety of water to save them. Now BH's find this little loophole that allows them to attack jedi while they're swimming.
Does the problem need to be fixed? Yep...in some form or another. Heck, i say bring back being able to attack while swimming as there's no reason i can currently think of why you cant and mobs seems to be able to do it.
For the current situation....like someone posted....BH had mounts...so jedi...go and get a mount.

I've only actually had it a few times while swimming on (kitty), my lesser dewback [yes, I did pick the name
I've typically found it's when swimming around, and you're on a low mount so your legs start getting covered by water - the swim tag keeps flipping at that stage.. you're in water, wait you're on a mount, but you're in water...
The main reason I'm looking for clarification is because most of us BHs want to make sure any tactic we use when hunting is not by use of a bug, as there are a few Jedi who will scream exploit the second they are attacked, and we'd rather not help fuel their claims.
However, I am aware that there are a few BHs that do the opposite - scream exploit in things Jedi do, that aren't exploits (Feign Death, anyone?)
Thanks for all the input so far.

Hmm This thread gives me an idea................What if you got a really tall creature that could stand in deep water without swimming. Since pets no longer suffer the PvP damage reduction and since jedi wear no armor this could be an effective means for taking them out.
./agree, i was fighting a jedi the other day and i saw my pets taking noticable if small chunks out of him before he decided to do the 3 hits necesary to kill them. Against an unbuffed jedi it sliced through him like a hot knife through butter, but of course if he had had the time he still could of killed them in 3 hits.

Jedi DONT wear armor and while they are swimming they CANNOT fight back. get 3 pets with strong poison that are tall enough to stand in most water and send em after a jedi and eventually the dots will stack up enough to do some serious damage.

IMO, it still doesnt help much because i think the damage pets deal out is insignificant to the damage they can absorb. So while they can dish out full damage, they take full damage as well. And the damage they do is ap0, so they still wouldnt do anything against normal players in armor.
as far as the whole swimming thing is concerned...they should just let us attack things while swimming again. never understood why they took it out to begin with.
