I think back to those days, it was a totaly different game, There was a sense of fear beacuse you knew if the pets dont hold the agro you are prolly going down. I cant tell you how many times I had to school people on how to fight beacuse they would just shoot and keep shooting lairs, run off and attack the mission targets before I could send my pets in.........I remember I was doing sharnaf missions and some idiot rode up and decided to poach my mission, well I guess he was thinking since I was doing them they could not be that hard so he attacked a sharnaf, 5 secodns later he was incaped so he does it again, incap well the idiot does it a THIRD time.....I was laughing my arse off, Thats what he gets for mission poaching!
You can still capture some of that experience by doing sharnaff lairs Unarmored and Unbuffed (that's the only way to fight
). Our player city is on Corellia, so a lot of our guild hunts end up being sharnaff missions on the outskirts of town. It's a lot of fun, and a great way to get new players off to a running start.
You can go from Novice Scout to Novice CH in a single evening from the harvests, and everyone can actually contribute productively to the fight. It's seriously like the old days... I love being able to run around with a group of eight random (unoptimized) guildies and have a productive evening. As opposed to rancor missions on Dathomir, which (while faster for advancement) don't really allow the new people to get in much damage on the targets.
