Today i was unlucky enough to fall victim to random spawning ie I had just destroyed a lair went to have a sit down only to find myself 6000m away, arse you may think but i did spawn in a herd of Gronda's, i have never seen these before and to be honest never even heard of them i was wondering why, they have some nice resists a ham of 5k a little over and they are one of the ugliest things you have ever seen, they look like a rhino thats been run over by the ugly truck, Does anyone have these as a pet ? they could make a good Mount as they are big enough and are harder than bantha's ? I think we should all get involved in a little Gronda love, we shouldn't shun them cos there ugly.

they are incredibly rare, you just dont' see them very often.

I have been playing this game since launch day, most of the time spent on Corellia, and I have seen Grondas maybe 3 or 4 times.

A gronda is my first pet and i still have him to this day. His armor is very tuff and he can take a beating. Only problem is he likes to run sometimes. which isnt a bad thing to do since he has horns on his butt. Its a good defender pet or something to send into a swarm to keep them busy, but ultimately the ham, damage, and running away is not enuff to compete with the 'better' pets. That said I'll keep mine. At least he has some shock value in town when I call him. The comments are "Omg its so ugly, but its smiling at me"

Gronda's are cool pets for tanking, they were quite common in south east Corellia when I started out (half had 1/2 dozen chars and CH was my first) in-fact I still have a character on Eclipse from way back who I dont use anymore with a baby war gronda in his datapad. Look around the mountains on the bottom right of the map and you should find some...

I used one while grinding Ch for a bit. But I had to free it back into the wild to make room for another pet.

I've had a war gronda for over a year, myself. The main problems, though, are that they're very slow-moving and (as others have mentioned) one of the worst offenders for pets that run away in battle. It takes a lot of micromanagement to keep one from taking off through the countryside when under fire... so I suspect a number of CHs try grondas but eventually discard them.

In addition, they have the Knockdown special which doesn't work with the special attack training commands (making it less reliable than Crippling Strike). They're also pretty big, so they can awkwardly block your view and mouse clicks in close quarters dungeonsor a large group.

I had a gronda and war gronda once when my level was about theirs, and they were faithful companions....when they didn't run away. When i found faster moving pets which didn't run away i had to give them up because of datapad space.

You're talkin about Snorbals

On FarStar: MYLO EXAGONALIS ---> Mon Calamari Pikeman / Doctor.

On Chimaera: JANTO KORMAKIS ---> Human Commando / Rifleman / Squad Leader

These live on Corellia (sp?). I remember getting missions (in Kor Vella) and hoping for a baby. In the long long ago before the Great Nerf Gronda's had light armor and a CH 3/4 or 1/2 way through the profession could use 2 of them and they were pretty tough if ugly beasts. They were REALLY bad about running though..
