Should I even mention its damag is 500-600? Find me a NON-CH that compares to that and my rifle as a master rifleman and I will change classes.

If Non combat want protection, they can wear armor or buy buffs. If they want even more protection, maybe they can use a combat class.

CH is meant to be a combat class, however, at the moment it is simply a 'Buy the MCH 10secs-1minute of no pain' skill. The pets do not kill or hurt NPCs or people in PvP.

The fact is, you can get pets that have decent HAM and resists, that serve as much purpose in PvE or PvP from BE for Non CH.

Hmm.. I am thinking that CH is just misunderstood. My Kimo was a RARE find indeed. I had a friend give it to me when he quite CH and I have never found anything since that matches. I got that Kimo about 3 months ago or so. But as for CH creatures being just fodder to gain a CH time? Nah. I have sent that kimo into groups of a dozen and more imps and walked away. He does it all himself I am his back up in a way. The drawbacks of that monstrosity of a critter? How about a good 10 second delay after the attack command before he moves.

But anyways. I believe the new BE critter have increased our powers beyond anything we were capable of BEFORE the nerf. Find a good BE and yes pay a lot, but you get a critter that will make your job as any combat character MUCH easier.

I am a MCH. I have been for a while. And anyone who knows anything, also knows we do not use these for damage. See the point is that with Light Armor and 10K HAM I can be a Pistoleer useing Fan Shot and wipe out most lairs. That is as a Master CH or OR OR OR a non-CH with a monstrosity BE pet.

BE this is not against you at all. It is however against SOE logic. These same pets are the same strength as pets prior to the nerfs. It wasn't allowed in the CH profession because of the appearance CH was too strong. But it as allowed as non-CH a la Thunderhearts legendary free checkers comment. Any AOE special used in conjunction with a non-CH BE super ugly pet makes that person in PVE better with NO SKILL POINT usage.

Many of us are simply tired of it. No pets for non-CH. And to answer DarkCrest. Send your house cat to kill my python. That is the analogy. Not lion tamer and house cat. IF you want a rale play pet as non-CH there should be a default "PET" option that allows MCH to teach deeds to set CL's on non-CH pets to 1. Reset all stats to 1. And make it a perfectly harmless Kitty.

Not against broad changes, just profession specific ones (read as CH) that go against what we've been told in the past.

Well now I hear all the arguments and would tend to agree on a few things. I think Non-CH shouldnt have pets, not because of balance though. But because how many CH can use Lightsabers, lightning cannons, flamethrowers, etc. Pets should be class specific. If a person isnt trained on how to handle a pet how do they do it?

As for creature power and BE control? Heres something for you. On gorath server I got a Kimogila froma be. This is a LVL 70 Kimo. Ready for this? 13k ham medium armor and 40% kinitec and 60% energy. Oh and if you dont believe me on this critter. I am on the Gorath server. Just give me a tell. I will happily prove it.

I vote a resounding no to tameable Krayt's!

Imagine the potential for disruption to other users gaming experience....the lag around some cities (Coronet on my server) is already ridiculous for those with low spec machines with low memory, so if a handful of MCH's show up and each dump a juve Krayt in the middle of the 'spam circus' and buff queues it can only lead to shocking response times and a possible server crash!

Not saying I wouldn't like to command one of these beasties (would love to), but it just ain't practical.

The CL10 subject keeps coming up and it gets boring.

A CL10 tank is bloody useless in my opinion. All it's good for is soaking up damage, the same as a Combat Droid.

I can make a CL10 with 8K, 6K, 4.5K ham and 60 damage... My little sister's Barbie Doll could do more than 60 damage

Now, I can also make a CL20 Slice Hound with 9KH and 300dam - that's actually worth pulling out of my datapad.

Pull me up to CL30-ish and I can give you 10KH, AR1, 400dam, 60%Kin and less vulnerabilities

To my mind, the damage output is what seperates the CH pets from the non-CH pets. I can't think of any Master Elite Profession that can't 'tank' better than their pet. It seems silly to use a pet when you can just get buffed and go toe-to-toe with most things in the game anyway...

You up the aggresssion (controls damage output) when making a pet and the CL leaps way over 10 )

That makes my argument kind of, um what's the word,oh yeah dumb If those stats are accurate and I have no reason to doubt you, then non CH pets arentmuch ofa weapon , they are really more like armor. Like I said Im new here, so you may have to just ignore me if I say something stupid. It happens from time to time but I try to keep it to a minimum whenever possible.

That link is for a lvl 95 wild Kimo. BE's cannot make pets with medium armor, light armor is the highest you are going to see on a BE'd pet.

Oh gawd - not the old lag chestnut again...........

The load on the server and bandwidth requirements for "big" pets istiny compared to thatfor a naked PC with no items - the data passed amounts to "skin xxx here moving vector yyy". For a naked PC it's "character named xxx here, race yyy, height, skintone, hair colour, facial type, actions, emte/move set, etc, etc, etc".

The only people big pets affect adversely are those with sub-spec machines occasionally since they have problems drawing the graphics (which are still less of a requirement for a single relatively large polygon skin than a PC with layers of clothing in various colours, etc, etc)..

That said, cluttering up high traffic areas with pets is bloody rude.

Sorry about the rant. - but I hate it when people make up "technical" arguements (which are utter poo) to justify the removal of something they really just find annoying.

I've no doubt Liberation wrote that in good faith BTW, having been told about the "lag" elsewhere and I'm in no way having a flame at him.But that's the problem. These myths get talked about so much that people accept them as "facts", despite them being nothing of the sort. (Even some CSR's now believe that pets in public areas cause server-side lag......)

Hence the rant - sorry.

I apologize. It is light armor. Still a nice critter though. It makes me not reget CH at all.

As far as that link. I am not sorry about that at all. If you go to SWGCTREATURES.COM and look up kimos it shows that as the link to the bio-engineered one.
