I cam home for labor day weekend and was finally able to play SWG for a bitfriday (YAY!)whenI got on I advertised training mounts for some cash as I do occosanionally when im espically low on funds. And the first pet im asked to tame is SUPRISE a Non-CH uber pet. Feeling throughly ticked off at this little monster with 6k health 5k action 3k mind (average ham 4.6k) and like 30% kinetic resist didnt bother checking the damage cause Id seen enough. I outright refused to train it. Wondering how non fourm posting BE's felt about this I asked my BE about it and heres his response.

Me: "These non CH pets are way overpowered"

Him: "Not really droids can have 5k HAM and 40% resist to almost everythign and anyone can use them"

Ok that sounds like a fair arguement right? Well anyone who accepts that would also have to accept the argument that a pet with 7 times the CL should be 7 times better And a Juvenile Krayts stats fit this discription pretty good to bad its CL is 122. We shoudl be able to TAME THEM!

I don't think BEs should be able to makea Kimogila. Do you think some little 6 foot person could control something about 20 times his size?

Now droids, I like, while I'm leveling I put my droid out first to tank (He has 4.4k HAM) and send my pet in after that. The droid takes all the damage, and my pet does the damage.

no, no, no...

give me a juvy kryte and i can easily take out any mob in the game... you are comparing a AR030% kinto an AR2 60% for everything creature that does roughly 800 damage per hit...

if you know how to do it, a juvi kryte can tank a giant efficently... i've done it i know... this is also the reason that they made AT-ST's only usable for faction missions... 1 imp can efficently take out anything in the game with one AT-ST... its unbalanced...

if i come off as rude it not intended, but i've seen a million of these posts...

Its more ofa scarcastic if you accept that moronic way of thinking you gotta accept this moronic way of thinking type posts.

But seriously the forumla for comming up with CL seams seroiously screwy if ya ask me. A cl 10 pet with 4.6k HAM and a cl 70 pet with only 12k HAM its like from cl 11-70 has some serious diminishing returns. but once you pass cl 70 it seems that resist and HAM jump considerably in relation to CL.

For instance if a pet with a CL of 70 has 12k HAM a CL of 140 should have only 24K HAM but this is not the case. A juvie Krayt has 45K HAM and has a CL of 122

I hope that makes sense to someone else besides me. It almost seems as if HAM resist and attack have nothing to do with relative CL. but thats just my 2 cr.

Joker,

while I do not disagree with what you posted. I have a new and different approach. Non-CH should mean they cannot use pets. Yes. I said it, no pets for non-ch. I am bothered by this trend. I am bothered more so because this is why we were nerfd. We had to many dabblers. Now people do not have to dabble to have these monstrosities (and wabit some varieties do come with AR1). So you have CL10 or less pets going to people using no skill points where they atleast had to use some before. Now they have a better pet than can be tamed in the wild, all their skill points to use on other professions and no real limits except to CH's themselves.

give short toons new mounts =D... a wookie wuold look silly but my short lil Rodarian (is that even a word?) would look great =D...

Hi Pluto,

As you know I am also A master BE. In talking to the BE forum the whole problem of these aberations of CL10 pets has come up.

After many posts I have come to the same conclusion as Pluto. NO pets for non-CH people, period. End of Story. Finito. ADIOS baby.

....and then no matter how hard we get nerfed, we still keep CH because we are still some of the coolest characters on the game.

My thinking is that if overpowered means nerfed then non-CH should just not have these pets. It is the whole reason we got nerfed, even initially before the fabled Combat Rebalance. If it means keeping our profession cleaner then I am totally against non-CH pets. If CH's can still use them fine. At least we have paid for the privelege in skill points.

I am new to the CH profession but it seems to be a fairly simple matter of weapon certification. If I am not certified to use a particular gun or melee weapon then I can't use it. If you are not certified to use pets by getting novice CH then you shouldn't be able to use pets since they are the weapon specific to this profession. So I would have to agree, no CH skills means no pets.

Well now I hear all the arguments and would tend to agree on a few things. I think Non-CH shouldnt have pets, not because of balance though. But because how many CH can use Lightsabers, lightning cannons, flamethrowers, etc. Pets should be class specific. If a person isnt trained on how to handle a pet how do they do it?

As for creature power and BE control? Heres something for you. On gorath server I got a Kimogila froma be. This is a LVL 70 Kimo. Ready for this? 13k ham medium armor and 40% kinitec and 60% energy. Should I even mention its damag is 500-600? Find me a NON-CH that compares to that and my rifle as a master rifleman and I will change classes.

Oh and if you dont believe me on this critter. I am on the Gorath server. Just give me a tell. I will happily prove it.
