Thread: Another way to excel at Creature Handler....Any thoughts on this????

Ok, the gig is up...I'll explain.

The requirement to become a Jedi hunting BH is BH 3 0 0 0. All of the prerequisites and skill boxes in the BH tree all have to do with ranged combat. We shoot pistols, carbines, and the LLC. Unfortunately Jedi obtain the saber block skill...which caps at 85% block at master saber. As you all know Jedi are tough buggers to take down, especially if you're shooting at an 85% block character. On the other hand....melee attacks bypass saber block entirely. Melee players get higher defense, higher offense (TKM's), and are never saber blocked. All told, melee BH's are much better equipped to take down Jedi and thus are much more successful than any Master BH could ever dream of being. So a typical template is BH 3 0 00 then mastering a melee profession...typically TKM.

With this beign said...it's analagous to a Master Ranger hijacking the CH profession and becoming better CH's than Master CH's could be. Many of the melee BH's argue that there's nothing wrong with doing so. I was simply posting the very same arguement in a different forum so that the merrits of the arguement can be evaluated by some people who aren't so intimate with the actual discussion. It seems that the CH's agree that to become the best possible CH, skill points ought to be dumped into CH, not Ranger.Bounty hunter ought to be the same way. The best BH's ought to dump skill points into BH, not TKM and BH 3 0 0 0.

Well..I hope this clears it up. I was hoping to extend thisa bit further, but it looks like interest in my little experiment died quite quickly. Thanks for playing.

I think master ranger should ENHANCE master Creature handler, and not require so many skill points. Other than that, thanks for stopping by.

Ranger does enhance Creature Handler by allowing you to see creature levels, their defensvie bonuses to determine if the baby is worth taiming, and the ability to feed them through forageing.

you point is what? That is what i said it should do in the first place.....

personally i think you sohuidl sotp eating those mushrooms you foudn in the field

on a serious note no profession sohuld be outclass in its own field by a dabbler with a complimentary proff, no pisdtolier souhld be outdone by a mbh with a couepl of ponts in pistols, no tk sohuld be outdone by a commando with meditate 3...

or maybe a ch with 0030 ranger should be able to outcamp, out track out harvest and out trpa a master ranger, perhaps that finapl cmap should be in mch?

that bit aout ch's outdoing rangers is obviously sarcasm but it makes my point rather well so im using it

the first step we take down this route is the first step towards a single class multi race game, and thats a bad step no matter how you view the skilsl in question. Ch skilsl shoudl remian wher they are, in ch, likewise ranger skilsl sohuld be in range,r and scout ones in scout, ranger really needs a revmap at this pointin time however, jsut as ch neds to be put bkac in line with the other combatants, thsese are in progrsss so hopefully we need but wait, in the mena tiem if you really wnat to have the best pets and be a master ragner. master ch and range,r youve got the points, jsut dont ceom whiningni here aobut how weak you are in combat, ch in comat has bene said before its old terretory we've coverd it so often that thers not really anything new to say, and with the combat upgrade in progess anything new that somsone might find is probably gonna be redundant before long

I was torn between ridiculing your grammer, typing, or just your thought process in general. I've decided to just be nice and say thanks for your input.

Why bring this discussion here? It's already on the BH board and is going quite nicely there thank you.

I propose that Master Rangers with at least CH 3 0 0 0 ought to be better Creature Handlers than all you guys that waste your time dumping all those skill points into the CH profession. Seriously now, Rangers are Master Scouts and thus are way more qualified in the ways of the wilderness that non-master Scouts.
What do you think about dem apples??

This is an excellent idea. I propose an 85% chance for a creature not to listen to an ordinary Creature Handler's command, which would be brought down to 0% with a special Ranger-only skill. Also, additional pets and max level of pets modifiers should all be moved to the 4xxx line of Creature Handler, giving Rangers with this line the ability to control any and all creatures.

(Note to Creature Handlers - this is just a silly attempt to poke fun at the MBH vs Inv3/melee BH imbalance in the fights against Jedi. )

ROFL!

I came across this post from the Bounty Hunter forum. All the serious responses... I was rolling on the floor halfway down the thread! This little charade is up there with the classic behavioral-psychology experiments of the 1960's!
