there could be..as you work a spawn, in my experience , the chance for a babyseems to go up the more you kill (for example: in rares the have no lair the initial "guard" is almost always an adulti.e.[ GPS, malignant squill, WDB,TGG, heck even a swampstalker]....i have found a gaping spider queen baby(5%) outside an insect hill before, so i can state through experience this is not always the case, and i have heard rumors of people finding a bull rancor baby outside a pile of rocks on initial approach...i wonder if this is factored in to the %age number given?..that mabey the 1st one doesn't count..that would explain why no bosses have been tamed..hehe
I think I read in some old post, that way back the devs changed the way lairs work on some of the 'better' creatures to make sure you had to work through at least the first wave (guards) of crits before you had a chance for a baby. I guess this was done to ensure that you had to do at least some work before getting a rare baby. I wonder if somebody worked the lairs you mentioned where babies where found initially, but couldn't be bothered with killing a baby, or just left before finishing the lair of.
Any of the old CH have an opinion on this or know the answer about the way babies and lairs work?
