OK. I do want to point out that IG-88 was a self aware droid. As a sentient being he killed his creator.

True. I guess i should have kept droids out of it, since, in the SW canon, they are given sentient traits and you can argue they are self-aware. I'll use the term "mechanical devices", like the subject vehicle, the AT-ST.

As far as self aware SWG style there has to be an explanation as to why any droid listens to one person over another. This is awareness of rules. I must do this task when this specific person tells me to do so.

That would probably be their internal modificationas part of their sentient programming. They are programmed to listen to "this person" because that person has been programmed as their master. Think of HK-47 in KOTOR.

Restraining bolts versus shock collars if you will.

but the main reason CH cant even stand up to walkers which take no SP is of course that CH isnt strong enough anyway, whenever they get around to the 'upgrade' it will hopefully not be so ridiculous.

You need 12000 Imperial faction points to purchase a walker from an Imperial quartermaster.. Look on an imperial mission terminal and see how many FP you get per mission and see if you still agree that those people don't have to "earn" the right to use that device. I would say it balances out.

Well thats what you say. You seem to be a pikeman so I'll ask you a question. Why dont you go propose to the pikeman community that the devs make the best pike in the game avaliable as a rebel faction perk. And also propose that it will be a non certed weapon that will give the user better damage and defense than even a master pikeman. Then explain how it will cost just as muchas an AT-STwould only be able to be used in the GCW and see exactly how well that goes over. I think because of the FP requirement it would balance out completely.

Actually, I'm a Rifleman, first.

I think you missed my point in my previous response. The debate wasregarding an Imperial using a device of high level with out sacrificing any skill points. I just wanted to point out that, in essence, an Imperial has to "level" toward using an AT-ST by gaining faction points. No, he/she does not use skill points, but then you can refer to my previous discussions for my stance on that. That is allI was trying to point out. As far as your Pikeman proposal. . .well, it's ironic, because someone used a similar argument with me to justify why Creature Handler should not be a combat profession. Because it was unfair that a certain segment of players should be able to bring creatures to bear on another player and have said player not able to withstand the attack. Needless to say he was in favor ofour infamous "nerf"(you don't need to bother responding with the "armor and buffs being overpowered" rebuttal).

No I didnt miss it. No ammount of FP can ever be compaired to SP because once SP is spent you cannot get more without scaraficing what you spent it on. While once you buy something with FP you can always recover it.

Well, this is on old argument indeed. MY stance has always been, if they are going to allow people to have these pets, any time they choose to use it, it should be extremely expensive.

Something of this nature would take tremendous upkeep. The batteries to produce that kind of firepower would be huge. Repair on the armor and systems would be extremely expensive. But once the user has purchased it, it costs nothing operate. Thats the biggest downfall.

And i think you missed my point in my post, where in it did i say imperials have no rights to use this pet? What i DID say, was that rebels getting a similar pet would probably balance it more, and that the reason MCH seems so weak compared to at-st is that MCH is already so nerfed its quite hard to tell if our true power would actually stand up against an at-st or not. Im not saying its not possible that an At-St is more than the strength of our whole proffesion, but what i AM saying is that there is a chance that, un-nerfed, we might actually stand a chance and we just don't know it yet.

Ok, maybe i read in between the lines a little, but i still never said anything about imperials not deserving the At-St when they get all the faction points....
