Thread: ** The CH Necklace is a Loot **
While I agree with a lot of things Dekko said, it also looks to me like he is taking a quite elitist stance with his statement "What? You don't have a big guild/a lot of friends to do it with? Well, too bad - no soup for you, come back next year"...
I think everyone agrees that it should not be easy to get that necklace - it wouldn't make any sense if it was easy... On the other handit should also not be restricted to a few that are online often enough to camp that spot - and I guess we all know that this is something that is entirely possible to do - greed is obviously a great motivator for a lot of people...
If you read the boards you see a lot of comments made about people (mostly Jedi) camping spots already (partly even AFK)and thereby preventing people from finishing quests - and we are talking about "easier" quests here too... Now imagine a group of people (Jedi?) that gathers for the sole reasonto "farm" Doombringer- how big do you think would the chances for others be to get in the neededinstance if that group decides it is "theirs" andhas the means to stay online for long times during peak times?

I 100% agree with Dekko. This should be a hard loot to get because its HIGH end content for our proffesion. A level 80 creature is a HUGE difference in Ham/Damage stats. Part of the challange of this new expansion is to acctually PLAY it. Finding groups to get you there and complete the goal. If you want it bad enough and dont want to group, go the cube way. As a CH you can solo the bosses that drop alot of the cube items. Just that your gonna still have to outdamage the mobs of other players there too. If everything in the expansion was easy it would turn into another Kkash and everyone would be done with it in a couple days.
Well I know some people that were on there final quest of this new expansion yesterday. What this expansion has been out 7 days yesterday? A couple days or a week is not that much difference.
Dekko - from reading your posts it seems like you are in favor of this being EXTREME hard in getting because you are simply in a position to get it. I.E. YOU cannot see a situation were you cannot get it. IMHO this is a bit narrow minded.

Doombringer is inside a closed instance which only your group will be in. There is also a lock out timer after you complete the mission to try and prevent non-stop farming, which will hopefully keep the necklace somewhat rare.

Not at all... I don't see having to get a group to do an instance extremely hard. Teamwork is part of what MMOs are, SWG is personally the first game I've ever played where 95% of the high end game content can be done solo or with only two or three people...it takes alot fo the challenge out of the game in my opinion. Doombringer is not extremely hard to defeat, but as stated, people think it is a rare drop. I'm fine with the rare drop, hell...this is pretty much the ONLY loot that is dedicated to Creature Handlers. I don't expect it to be simply given out at the end of a quest where you tame 3 grey con babies and clicked a headstone. I may never get the necklace, but I like the fact that it's something to work towards and not something already easily completed.
I think it should be reasonably accessible, the real challenge will be finding the level 80 babies, not level 71-78, but level 80 - there is where the difficulty should really lie for creature handlers. Lets face it, the necklace is an acknowledgment that we are underpowered currently anyway, otherwise it would not have been added.
Im quite sure large powerplayers in big guilds are glad its hard to get - Not only can they brag about having it, and rub other creature handlers face in it, but its more money for them, as no doubt others will be forced to pay huge fees to obtain the item from them.

there you go again saying how you do an don't ... what makes this game fun if other people have different idea's. What is easy for you can be very hard for others.

It's an MMO, some things in game will require help...If you want the necklace bad enough you'll find a way to get it. This is probably the most friendly MMO out there in terms of being noob friendly. I guess I've never been in the position, even since the beginning of the game, where I could not eventually find a group. It's HIGH END LOOT, if you can't beat it then you don't deserve the loot.

Dekko I'm still curious what pets you used going after Doombringer.
It's not only the pet that matters, it's the abilities you use as well. But right now I use a level 69 Raptor or a lvl 70 Kabazu Worker Beetle, and my group has noticed the advantage they receive through some of the CH abilities so they continue bringing me along. Creature Handlers need to show off and try to prove to others that they are worthy of the group. Whining on the forum here about it being to hard to get into groups isn't going to fix anything.
