I'd just like to say, great guide, and also, I've seen someone with a pet that was way bigger than normal, so I know it can be done.

One of these days, I'm going to open my front door and find that I've been transported to a whole new world. Let the day of adventures begin!

Vertexon,

First, great guide, as I am just starting out, I found a lot of useless information out there, or CH's that are non to pleased at having the questions asked of them yet again.

I found it interesting that there is NO place in game that explains how to, or what to train as a novice creature handler. Your guide is very helpful in that manner.

There is one thing though that as a completly new player I am very interested in finding out.

Is there a listing of the commands that are needed to train a creature?

Throughout this thread various commands are given (I.E. /scratch /follow /tame ... Etcetera) But no where is there a complete listing of all the available commands (I realise that some will only become available a certain levels.)

As an example of why I am asking, there are a couple of commands that were shown as "/tellpet Fido follow" or "/tellpet Fido attack" With the explanation of: "Assuming the pets name is fido.

However, there is no mention at all of how to name the pet, or a command that creates an association to a particular name for said pet.

Does this just come with the command process? (I.E. I train the pet to attack by telling it "Fido Attack" and from that point on the pets name is Fido?

Anyway, if a quick post of all the comands could be put together that would round this tutorial out and take it from a great tut, to a mondo super fantastic most excellent tut.

Thanks,

Thanks for the feedback, all. Just a heads up that I hope to have a new version ready sometime this weekend. I need to sanity check a few things in game first, though.

You need to train 4 commands with the same name ie. "Fido Attack", "Fido Stay", "Fido Follow", and "Fido Group".

Then your pet will change names to Fido...

I have tellpet macros ie."/tellpettank follow","/tellpettank attack", ... set up and in my tool bar. Oh by the way, I name all my pets"tank" so any one or more will follow the commands in the macro... simplifies life when hunting...

PS Great guide..

After you name your petswith the name commands ("Fido Attack")you can retrain the commands without the name ("Attack") and the pet will retain the name you gave them. This allows you to create different names for all your pets and createmacros for all of them. A little more work but worth it.

Great advice.

The fastest way I found out to gain CH experience was to group with a higher level player(usually my brother)and do creature missions. I did 3 last night against Lvl 40 DewBacks. He would root the creature to the ground with the first shot then I would send in my pet. while I shoot at the creature myself.

I get almost 2K Pistol XP, 200-300 CH XP, almost 600 Scout Xp from harvesting, and almost 200 Combat Xp. When the lair stops producing creatures I just have my creature attack the lair. A CL40 Dewback lair gave me 3K+ CH XP.
