Thread: Suggestion concerning max lvl of pets.

on the other side when i group my CL70 BE dune lizard (making it CL80) and send him after a CL84 mob it will be an even fight - with me supporting my lizard it wont loose even half its health killing the mob (without loosing the agro - so doing still more damage than me). even my CL70 natural reclusive shear mite does pretty good against high level CL81+ mobs. so in PvE my pets seem good enough for me when grouped and handled as CL80.
if u are not CL80 and depend solely on your pets as weapons, then i think u are still not worse than other professions. a single elite combat master is CL55 - and i guess a CL70 pet will do better than a CL55 combat master against mobs of CL70+.

The problem stems from us being able to mix and match professions. If you are a Creature Handler and nothing else, then this suggestion is fine. A CL 80 pet being taken against CL 80 missions. But if you have someone with other combat skills paired with a CL 80 pet, then you essentially have two against one.
As long as we can use a gun (knife, fist, whatever) at the same time we can use a pet, the devs will never let us be able to tame CL 80 creatures. While I think there are ways around that, I don't foresee them taking the effort to implement them.

I'd be happy if they did that, but honestly I don't think it would make much of a difference in our combat effectiveness.
The differnce between a CL 70 pet and a CL80 pet is pretty minimal. If you want to see what having 80CL of creatures is like, just pull out a Droid and use it with your pets. CL70 + droid is actualy better than a CL80 by its self. (although admitidly 80+10 is petter than 70+10)
Still, we would be perhaps 2-5% stronger than we are now, which isn't much.
I was out group hunting over the weekend and my CL 70 pets seemed to do quite well. With me my pet and another player who was not jedi we stood for up to a juve krayt for 2 minutes or so before the main mass of the group could turn to help us. By that time we had the juve under half health. Our health bars were full, and my mind was still half full. My pet had lost maybe a third of its health. Plus had not been healed once.
So in my oppinion the creature pets are at a good level. With the new special system comeing in pets will go up in combat ability by up to five points in my oppinion, and they will no longer be as ignoreable on the battlefield since they will be dishing out states. States that are on the cheap might I add.
I think the real important thing is for the devs to give us dedicated pet slots in groups. Just 2 would be fine for a group of eight. So the healer could have a healer droid out and a CH could have his or her 70 out. The devs are never going to jack the level to 80, because that would make CH way too strong. Be mindful a CH pet will continue fighting a target after the master will go down. So there is very little in the way of a pet bypass advantage. Net result it will be like fighting two players at once. One that is CL 57 and the other that is CL 80. All but a hearty jedi would have trouble dealing with that.

Nope just removes the level difference pently(damage) pets would get without grouping with us.
Isn't that what CL is all about in the first place?
