Thread: Controversial Question
If it isn't, it should be. At the very least, the pet should be taken away and destroyed by a CSR.
No one who has not invested the SP to aquire the skills to control a creature at that level should be allowed to call it. Period, end of discussion.
i dont think it should be bannable.
i have a lvl 0 narglatch back from when i wasa BE. it was was the first pet i made, back when you could not customize them. a razor cat was a razor cat, a kaadu was a kaadu, the good ole days.
then again i am a Master Creature handler, so i'm biased.
Is it a bug? Quite clearly yes
Do you know its a bug? Also, yes
Wouldit be areasonable expectation of any player to consider a level 1 or level 0 pet that is a level 50+ in the wild to be a bug? Again, clearly yes.
Is knowingly using a bug for personal advantage the definition of exploit? Yes
Is this particular instance of an exploit a bannable offense? We have no definitive answer, but for info I know of two people that I knew for a fact used to use these pets for hunting (in passing, not as friends) - neither of them logs on any more. They may have quit, they may have been banned, I honestly don't know.
The questions you should be askingare - Is this game really so difficult that a person needs to cheat in order to play? And is the gain someone would get from using this cheat worth losing their account over?

Yep. Can't say it any better.

No this was not fixed even though it was listed in the patch notes. I knew this thread would provoke some strong opinions, however any facts out there? Is this a bannable offense to use one? Does anyone know of any bans or suspensions related to using this bug?
I don't know of a ban, no.
I know it was discussed as bannable, back just after publish 5.
But then again, SOE only makes a habit of reporting mass bannings for farily specific offenses (the double slice exploit, for example).
I would say that if you purchase one of these bugged critters, you do so at your own risk.
It's really only bannable if a lot of people take notice and submit tickets, but in your case, most people will either not bother examining your pet or won't be able to see your pet's stats anyway, that andthey don't know if you're aMCH or not.
As long as you have it, you might as well use it. You can deal with the guilt later, heeheh.
Now, if you happen to have say, 5 of these guys out at once, then people will take notice and would run a high risk of being banned.
Is the question "is it bannable" or "should it be bannable"?
OK. Follow with me here.
SOE creates a bug that works against me such autostore. YES.
SOE knows this is a bug. YES.
SOE uses that bug against CH. YES.
SOE exploits CH. YES
Look all I am saying is if SOE has bugs that work against me. Why can I not use the bugs that work for me? This is not just a matter of ethics. This is about playabilty. I had both my pets autostore on me during a friends Part 3 of Act III last night. I am currently a MDoc/MCH all I was there for was crowd control. She is MDoc and some Carbine. Wave 2. No more pets. We were lucky to stay alive. The cowardly nature of which I play my CH (LOL Enchanter instincts from EQ) is the main reason I survived. SOE no more cares about the bugs that work against us than Jihad terrorist care about innocent victims. Should bugs that work for you be bannable? I say no. Autostore is more offensive to me than anyone and I do mean anyone using a 1(0) bug. And I am really against non-CH's having powerful pets. But I see little difference from the CL1 and the CL10 with 10K ham. The point is that the bugs that work against me should mean the Devs get replaced/banned for leaving them in game IF indeed they are going to ban people for using ones that work in our favor.
I really don't know if this is one of the bugged pets but really? 800 ham and no resists a exploit?
