CH is in the TANKING catgory but we cannot tank with pets.

The only way they tank is if I use default attack and do less damage than they do.

Thats kind of hard at level 80 against level 80.

Pets just need to tank period and the mob not turn and attack you. The hate system needs tweaked.

Grouping is a CH is useless at this point. What we bring to the table is tanks, and we cant tank. We just use extra group slots with pets that do lower damage than other characters.

Tanking is one of the aspects CH is supposed to be able to do. CH is actually supposed to be able to fufill the roles of crowd control, damage dealing, AND tanking depending on the pet they have out at the moment. However the level of pet specialization this will require is not currently possible so we are going to have to wait on a revamp to be COMPLETELY balanced for the CU.

Put your creatures away, I am. They just get torn up in fights. I could not believe my

rancors getting incapped by bols and pikets with me helping. As soon as I start shooting

the target changes agro on me with just 1 of my shots. I have been a MCH for a year and

a half, and would never drop it, but am seriously considering it now.

I personally think the devs want creature handlers out of the game, because since the 2 nerfs

in 2003, I don't think anything has been done to help or fix any of our issues in the game.

Thanks again, Sony.

I was thinking of posting a screenie as a suggestion... picture the scene....

* * * me riding my pet brackaset off into the sunset, with a big, fat "BITE ME!!" emblazoned on the brack's rump * * *

Think that might help it hold aggro?

Ohh and by the way

Vert caint "make" the devs do a d@mn thing. He can request that they put more development time into the CH profession but that dont have to listen.

My pets have been doing all the tanking well enough.

I have smuggler 0044 and the snare and root abilities allow me to keep the creature right next to the pet.

Normally the creature would just ignore the pet and fight me but when rooted they stay on the pet...

I must say though that all my pets got gimped pretty hard in the CU and something needs to be done.

When fighting same-level enemies my pet either dies or gets very close to death, and I have to wait for it to come back to full before I fight again.

Check my cool tricks thread its totally possible to tank with your pets. First though you must allow your pet to build up his creature hate. That means letting the pet tank for plus thirty seconds. Then you can jump in with heavy hitting attack.

Read my cool tricks thread. You can actually get your pet to build up a creatures hate to the point where the creature will ignore you even if your doing 3.5 times the damage with your hits.

Tank fully functional people just need to let the pets tank for them. When your pet starts fighting a high mob wait half a minute before you jump in. You will notice marked improvement with lazy joe creature tanking. If on the other hand you are totally tandem minded you simply have to accept that doing all that damage comes at a price. If thats the way you want to ch for goodness sake get a profession with decent defense.

I did.

My CL62 cat got chewed by a mauler. A MAULER. on NABOO.

She was (was).. a CL62 Gurreck with 60/60 /80/80/80 resists, light armor and 12k ham. Ranged attack and specials. Pure Bark Mite Burrower Queen DNA.

So lots of BE adventures on Endor down the tubes on my BE alt too.

So I picked up Smuggler with my MRifles. Now at least my MWeaponsmith has a slicer. And I have Smuggler Specials.

Alrighty then,,,,I had a different experience last night on Dantooine. Our group was dying ALOT until I brought out my graul mauler to 'tank' for us. It was a huge success, my mauler just kept going after the critters and we were able to kill them only with his help! He did not run off and when he went down (once) I just used the radial to resuscitate him and he regen'd really fast.

I became very popular in my group last night I can tell you that.

So the longer something (be it a player or a pet) is fighting a MOb, the more Hate it builds up? Interesting...

No your pet isnt tanling, you snared it..big difference.

CH is a tanking profession role and it cannot fill its profession role plain and simple. The hate system needs tweaked.

Nice work around using smuggler, but in your case the pet did not tank. You stopped the mob from moving lol not the pet. You could have easily snared it without using the pet. When they fix root and such to break on damage like they are supposed to you won't be in great shape
