I requested that this 'enhancement' be moved to Live as soon as possible (perhaps bring down the Servers to implement it). I mean, c'mon... this is the final "I Win" button for Devs v. CH, right?


I'm tired of the Devs methodology. Just WET THE SPONGE on us and get it over with. A nice quick end to our Profession such as this would cause and we no longer have to be bled to death with nerfing pets or lowering CL or whatever else they keep doing to us.


I demand no more of these half-measures. Do it right, Devs!

I have to admit, I feel really sorry for you guys atm.


This would fall under gamebreaking lol.




(Pets do nothing) -- lol kinda pretty much sucks on that one.

Oh, and I gotta say good move on adding more bugged quests when there are still an unbelievable amount of already bugged beyond comprehension quests in Live. It sure would be nice if they took a break from breaking stuff to actually FIXING this game. I have a lot of crap I want to say, but right now I'm just too pissed to articulate very well.

Less significant in the short term ( pets that don't obey completely break CH, but will probably be fixed since they list it as a known issue ), but far more important in the longer term was this little note:


Grouping

* Added a new way to calculate group experience point (XP) bonuses. Experience Points (XP) are now divided by the total number of people in your group with an additional bonus for being grouped with other players. We will be testing out the group experience and currently group XP is set lower then we expect it to be set at.


If grouping no longer provides significant advantages in XP grinding over solo work, then CH as a solo or group PvE profession may actually gain some lustre.


Example 1: Let's assume that the EXP bonus is 10% per additional group member ( e.g. 70% for a full party of 8 ).

Party 1: 4MCHs, 4 L70 pets. EXP = Value / 4 * 140% = 35% of total critter value per member.

Party 2: 8 chars. EXP = Value / 8 * 170% = 21% of total critter value per member.


Example 2: Let's assume that the EXP bonus is a flat 25% bonus to EXP for being grouped.

Party 1: 4MCHs, 4 L70 pets. EXP = Value / 4 * 125% = 31.25% of total critter value per member.

Party 2: 8 chars. EXP = Value / 8 * 125% = 15.625% of total critter value per member.


For anything but really high-end stuff, I'd rather have the L70 pet along than another L70-L80 character. Less power, definitely, but the pet won't steal my EXP.

Exactly my thinking. I want to entertain the idea that this means they are working on pet AI, but we won't know until Tiggs puts it "on deck".

Would it really matter if pet commands no longer worked? It's not like using pets in battle is viable anymore since the last publish, so would you really miss telling your pet to attack and then having 3-4 other lvl 82 mobs come rushing at you?



Although, I guess we wouldn't be able to have our pets do tricks in cities now, which is all we really have at the moment,,,

I hope you guys get this fixed asap, i'm not a ch, but i read the notes and saw the bug and saw how useless it would make the profession. I came to see the reaction on your forum expecting to see several badly spelled topics such as "WOT do soe think thay r doing!1!!1!!" (as i would expect to see on the BH or jedi boards) yet all i saw was calm logical intelligent thinking. Looking at many other profession boards and seeing so much moaning about so little, your problem makes theirs completely inconsequential.

You guys need some good soe lovin!

I'm not freaking out over it because they did acknowledge it before we had to rub their nose in it, for once. I must say though, I burst out laughing when I read it the first time. My secretary came running over to see if I was okay.


What exactly did they do that completely turned off pet commands?

If it's a *known* issue, then why not fuhking fix it? Isn't that what test center is for? Or is it just a spot where bugs can get used to the server before jumping in? I believe the last few publishes had major bugs on test center and then just got pushed right on out the door onto the live servers.
