I know you folks already have plenty of threads out there with issues/problems you're experiencing specifically related to the Combat Upgrade, but I'd appreciate it if you could take the time here just to mention what your number one issue is at the moment. Feel free to give me up to three problems/concerns you have if you'd like, just to get it off your chest.

I'd like to get an idea of where the community as a whole stands at the moment.

It's my personal belief that we are sitting better post-Combat Upgrade than we were prior to it. Pets seem quite effective in PvP, the number of tamables has increased significantly, and the profession overall seems to be approaching the level of the other combat professions.

However, here's the 3 biggest issues (specifically related to the CU changes) that I have at the moment:

1. Hate system makes fulfilling a tanking role for CH difficult. Would benefit from a "Pet Taunt" special or similar ability.
2. XP caps at 20K while Tier 1 boxes cost 175K. Needs addressed ASAP as it's gating new players and turning them away from the profession.
3. Pet specials/stats need to be visible, fixed, and working.

Thanks in advance for your feedback!

My top three issues with CH right now:

1.) Need to do something about pets holding agro. A Special "pet taunt" would be a great idea if the pet did it on its own but not if you had to do it yourself asa special. If a creature is getting hitby a creature right in front of its face and a rifleman who is shooting at it from 64m away, it shouldn't ignore the creature thats right in front of its faceand run 64m to the rifleman it just doesn't make sense.

2.) Getting the "Can't tame" message a lot when i shouldn't be getting it. Right now actually i'm trying to tame a lurking sheer mite (baby) at level 6...adults are level 69 but i can't tame it. Very annoying considering the time it took actually finding something you want, trying to tame it and then getting that message.

3.) Max pet level 70? MASTER CH...the word MASTER should have more meaning then a max pet level of 70. Especially with all the pets that you recently raised way beyond the cl they should be at. Considering the cl on most pets today it should be more like 140 max creature level. Then CH would be...well maybe still not competitive but improved a whole lot.

I agree about the pet taunt. If traps worked a bit better they would help in keeping your prey at bay.

I seem to find that the pets seem to get "stuck" at times. When you issue a command it's as if they're staring at some headlights.

Honestly those nail the biggest two I have to deal with. The 20k cap is horrible, especially as a Ranger/CH, because CH is my primary Combat class and of course coupled with that I need my pets to tank for me so we can work together to kill things. It's embarresing when I almost get killed by things half my level because my pet can't take agro and my ony damage is coming from 4 pistol boxes in Marksmen.

#1. Pet specials and resists

#2. Better BE pet conversion (like something with 60 kinetic with armor should be nearly 10000 kinetic and callable).

#3. Pets don't follow so well, especially after combat.

Here is my list

1. Pet specials / resists/ and possibly light armor.

I am taming creaturs out there simply out of cl, dmg dealing, and HAM whenmany ch knowthat doesnt necessarily make them the best pet. I am very interested to see if the Bull Rancor will still have plague strike after this or whether poison spray/poison combo will be apart of the aracne queen. Reptillian flyers also are up to lvl 66 and beyond but if their stats are very weakthen all those chgetting flyers thinking they will be uber creatures may be dissappointed.

At this point am encouraging ch to tame creatures based on how they were in the previous system as hopefully the creatures with the best resists in the old system will be still among the best in the new system.Among those creatures I hope are restored to greatness is my Frenzied Graul.

2. Bugs!!!!

Here is my list as it stands now

The New taming bug

It appears the adult baby spawn bug has been fixed but appears was not the only thing causing the taming bug. When a baby aggroes on the Creature handler trying to tame it what happens next is does not allow the Creature Handler to tame that creature. Today I once again found a Merek Harvestor baby and at first let me try to tame it. Then the baby aggroed on me and when tried to tame again it instantly came up with the mesage cannot tame. I made sure the little baby was not aggro on me or my pet and even stored the pet to make sure. I was having a taming guild hunt tonight so called other members of BEAST to come attempt to tame. This was a stubburn Merek as they attempted to tame and when aggroed on them that ch would become bugged not able to tame any babies. I even road completely away from the lair and found a lantern bird baby and the same error message cannot tame appeared.

This one needs to be fixed ASAP!!!

Static spawns are not respawning

Static spawns are not respawning as they should be making it impossible to tame any creature that solely spawns by static spawns. This needs to be fixed so that we can tame Wild Dune Boar, Great Plains Stalker, Blurrg Raptor, Graul Marauder, and any other creature that spawns solely as static spawn.

Hate system

Dont really need to get into how badly this is bugged but needs to be addressed so CH are no longers victims of this.

Pets not properly following master

After a pet finishes attacking its prey it will simply stand there like a statue and will only return if u issue the follow command. This is a bug of inconvenience as am used to my pet running away from target with me instead of waiting to be ordered to.

Frozen pet Bug

Sometimes pets will stand motionless instead of engage in combat. The pet will look be engaged in attack but not move toward the target making the CH very vulnerable to attack as the target will go for u instead.

Wandering Pet Bug

Sometimes a pet while resting will begin to wonder away from master ch. This is not related to ferocity as the pet is not stalking or is aggroing a nearby pet.

Auto-storing

Usually happens when lag is bad. This issue is not new but is veryapparent in days before and after patches.

Frenzied Graul and Great Plains Stalker

Was really nerfed hard by the revamp as they are no longer one of the best creatures in the game. As the best weapons are supposed to be the best weapons in the CU, such pet as Frenzied Graul should still be one of the best pets. I also believe that the Great Plains Stalker should be one of the best creatures of the game as its one of the most visually impressive.

Ferocity appears to be bugged again

Creatures once again seem more statue like out there in the wild and such creatures as the GPS do not aggro on their target like they previously did. I know this is an issue that many ch may be glad is gone but I feel that by having this it gives wild pets like the GPS very unique traits.

Pets are just generic now

Creatures are just HAM and dmg now. I feel that creatures need to at least get specials back and sense all creatures still do ranged attacks I feel its something that can still be incorporated. Give the Bull Rancor back its plague strike and the aracne queen its potent poison attacks. I am up for other ideas to restore pet uniqueness but feel specials would be the most effective.

Spawning rates

There still need to be appropriate spawn rates so that there are still creatures out there that are harder to find then others. This needs to be done on just a select few creatures such as up to 2 per planet and make it so there is some challenge restored in taming a rare or uber rare pet. As much as I love taming an Aracne Queen, its value is much deminished when it spawns 1 in 30 compared to say 1 in 500.

Bio pet Conversion

Was simply horrible. I couldnt look at my old bio pets after as there stats were torn down so much and took away what was so unique about them.

3.HATE system needs to be addressed

I posted on your Hate Thread discussion and think if they would make who the NPC attack in a group more random with a chance of the NPC attacking the most dangerous or weakest of the group then it would make the system balanced.

I am going to throw a 4th on in there because we really really need this but know it is outside the scope of the CU

4. Bigger datapad for storing pets or a pet building for storing pets outside the datapad

First off congrats on getting the Corr job.

Ok my three worst issues post-CU:

1) Pet follow/attack bug. Pets seem to stop following for no reason very often and also when they do follow they cannot keep up. Spamming /tellpet follow seems to be the only way to keep them with you yet even they they fall back. They certainly cannot keep up with a mount now. The attack bug is quite similar, often the pet just breaks off from attack for no reason and just stands there or it gets stuck in the attack stance but appears routed to the spot and will not respond to commands.

2) Pet resists and special attacks: These are not visible and it is unknown whether they are in the background or have been moved completely. We absolutely need these back.

3) Creature Agro: No matter how far away from a target youare as soon as you attack an enemy they agro on you even if your pet has been punding them for the last 5 minutes. Either the chances of this happening needs to be reduced, or we have some kind of pet taunt as detailed above (I prefer the pet taunt option).

Figured I'd toss in my two cents while i can.

Although as mch I don't have this problem my other characters do, double xp week has helped but soon many new ch and other professions are gonna be hurting. hence my number one will be for all professions.

1. XP needs to be spread out fairly, your level should not play as high a role as it does. 0 xp helps no one.

2. Specials and stats need to be fixed.

3 Hate system needs work

4. Pet levels need adjusting, multi pet combo's need a purpouse. (Can the pet trade in be repaired and tweaked to be used by ch for bio pets that are now uncallable?. keeping the same skin but adjusting stats)

5. Skill Tree in ch now needs restructuring, Tricks are just social animations, maybe changing these skills to relect some form of moral boost to the creature handler before combat giving him a slight defense boost for a short amount of time.

6. General commands need fixing, follow, stay, ... some only work for short periods of time and the highly agressive pets still run off for a snack lol. This should probably higher on my list but heck lets see what folks here say.

** I know you asked for the largest concern and I gave several, Just trying to get my input in while I can :-)

My three top beefs are: 1. Pet specials/stats need to be visible, fixed, and working.

2. Respawns for static non-lair mobs needs to be addressed.

3. The Hate system needs at the very least to be tweaked, if your idea of the "Pet Taunt" special doesn't please the devs.

Runners up: 4. Pet AI in general seems a bit wonky....pets in life use some intuition now and then, why not in swg?

5. The xp cap thing, but the only reason this doesn't make the top 3 is because it doesn't affect me as MCH, it is rather crippling to

the proffession as a whole.

6. Now that Pharples are tamable, what am I supposed to release to make room? (read: I want more storage)

7. Oooh, I like jope's #5

Sorry to list more than you asked for Ko, but I couldn't help it

I think that if the max PC CL is 80 then Max Pet Level for MCH should also be CL80

KO..i think one of the bigger issues atm is storage space..

with all the new tameables, and with statics apparently extinct (unless that was fixed), it is getting harder to decide what is worthy of a precious spot..

currently i have 25 pets(22 tamed, 2 mission and one pre order), and now i may be essentially screwed as i have to lose 4 before i can tame or train another pet..

we alway hear the arguement how you can have as may guns/swords/poles/vk's as you want...now that pets are more or less weapons not tanks , it rings even true..we need more room

i really think this needs to be addressed..fix it or i'll sign talon's thread..lol
