It was with some trepidation that I decided to be reborn in the Bria galaxy. I have started over many times. This tired old soul has seen many professions. I am known as a Master Doctor in one galaxy, a Weaponsmith in another. I am not new to starting afresh. I have done it many times. To be reborn a Scout looking to achieve Master Creature Handler? I just did not think I had that left in this old soul.

I was first born scout many years ago. I progressed rapidly. I figured out that Snorbles on Lok could not climb hills. In my wanderings, which was seldom done back then, I was attacked and ran. I happened to run up the side of a cliff. Lo and behold I found, what was later described as an exploit. Elephant type creatures can not scale sheer rock faces. That is another story.

So, armed with my trusty DLT20, I made Novice Creature Handler. I had to help a friend on Tat and in the process got my first tame. A Greater Mutant Womp rat. I named him Ratboy. People seldom traveled back then. I guess I was just unusual. My home was on Dant and I died a lot getting to and from the place.

Well, I was reborn on Bria. It was the promise that I could commune with the wise and powerful Vertexxon that lured me. While I had been a Creature handler for longer than most people have been alive, the chance to meet the Creature Handlers of Creature Handlers was too much to ignore. I awoke as a Brawler with no money and a very annoying Bot. I destroyed the thing twice before I figured out it was useful for freebies. Lol

Here I am a newb in a galaxy that I have no friends in. No quick boost of credits, no free armor, I am on my own. I am a wannabe Scout and Brawler. It was slow to start. I killed the yard trash for xp and what I could loot. I made enough credits to buy Mabari armor. When I told the smith what I wanted he asked if there was a new exploit. He had enough junk lying around to make it.

So, I spent my time killing Giant Gubbers. I logged on early the day of Bria I. I wanted to get to level 2 in both the in Exploration and Hunting. Vert has a great city. I staggered into town on my Kaadu.. Given to me bay a non-ch that I helped while I was afield. He was a merchant. I should have accepted his offer of money but asked if he had a mount. The rolling eyes killed the rest of the lair.

Well, the big day is here. I log early and kill a few more Giant Gubbers. I get to meet real entertainers. I figured that I should take care of this BF. I enter the Cantina and look hungrily at the Spat Leg. One of the entertainers say that they are not AFT bots or NPC’s. We chat a bit and I tip them more than I can afford.

Well, I brought beer. So, figuring we would meet in the cantina, I am handing out beer and watching and waiting for the arrival of the Great and Wise Vertexxon. Imagine my surprise when one of the entertainers shouted all CH are in front of the Town Hall. Good thing she did or I would probably still be there watching her dance.

It was a grand tour. I was a little surprise that the Great and Powerful Vertexxon was a Bothan. I expected a nine foot tall Wookie. Yes, I see his icon but you know… Well the first gathering went well and we got the grand tour. Some one has too much time on their hands. Lol It is truly impressive. Unfortunately, in another life I am 24/7 and I missed the hunt.

I did get to meet the goddess Helanor. Now I understand why wars are fought and kingdoms are lost over a woman. A fire haired goddes if ever I saw one.

I slugged my way to level 3 in the CH quest. I mean slugged,. Starting as a brawler is tough. I finally made enough money to move to Dant. I go after things that do not cause wounds. Those Seething Bols are a pain.. I got myself up to level 4 in Exploration and level 3.5 in unarmed. I am always based on Dant. It used to be a planet that few cared to tread.

Well, I got lazy. I had commitments in other galaxies. When Bria II was announced, I knew I would have to clear the schedule. I got there a little early. I met an Image Designer that mad me look half my age. I do not look a day over 70. Well, I knew the goddess Helanor would be there.

We had a blast. I got the last few boxes I needed. I almost killed the killer gubber. I do not mind tripping over him in battle. It is just that squish sound give me the Willies.. I finally died on the battle field from the three incap rule. But there were only a few of us left. If I thought I could clone and get back to the fray I would have.

I know this sounds lame, it was the most fun I have had in the game for months; I wish Blindtylak and a few others would join us. It is tough but it is till fun, My killer Kaadu and I have now made Novice CH and should be Novice TKA soon. I fight with my pets.

I invite others to join. It is fun. I would invite Helanor… but tat is another story. Old guys take their time.

Thank you for the invite, but I simply can't. Those things are schedualed when I cannot play, or I would go at some point. But I do know what you mean . . . starting over, like I just did on Shadowfire, can be an absolute blast.

Ah excellent, my master plan to get everyone playing on Bria is succeeding... er... did I just type that out loud? AND hit Submit? /doh

I've had a blast at these get togethers... I'm glad to hear you all have been, too. I'd like to try for a different time slot next time, to hopefully mesh with different schedules.

P.S. I am a Rodian on Bria. Not sure where that "Bothan" observation originated?

Well, unfortunately, obligations on other servers kept me off of Bria yesterday. I did get to play today. I needed a break from all of the Jedi fight. I awoke in the cloning facility in the Mining Outpost. Nice place to sleep, actually. It is quiet because the people that come through are not here long. I guess it is like sleeping in a morgue. lol I got tired of waking up in the middle of a pack of Voritors.

Well, today I made TKA Novice. I had to pummel a good bit of the Dant wildlife to do it. I find it sad that in the time it took me to get 125000 TKA experience I only got around 14k of CH experience. My loyal killer Kaadu did his part and saved this old mans legs. I would pound them till they ran and send Oracle after them. He was involved in just about every kill. The CH exp ran only slightly higher than the combat experience. Well, I made some credits. Heck I could even afford a buff now if I could tolerate the lines. lol

My Cupa is averaging one point a day. It has been a long time since I actually tracked this but has this been change to our detriment also? I hunt rares on my alt and really did not look into this. It used to take 5 or 6 days to mature if you logged every day. Yes, I know, I am showing my age. Is this aBE pet thing or all pets in general?

Tomorrow, if the the resouces do not shift on my alts and I do not get a need help teill, I will be hunting for a nice place to put a house and hunting for xp as well. I do not know why I like Dant so much. I just do. For some reason, all of my alts live on Dant. My declared residence might be in a city elsewhere but give me a medium Naboo house on a mountain top or a cliff face overlookng a lake or river and I am home.

I went fishing today. Not because I needed the xp or the fish were uber quality but just because I needed a little down time. I had run into two lairs with Huurton Blood Hunters. I had never encountered them before and was not expecting them. Not a big threat but when you have unarmed 4 as your combat skill and a Kaadu to watch your back.... Lets just say I will wait a bit until I finish off a lair to let things regenerate.

Well, tomorrow I plan to reak havoc on the Quenkers, Pickets,Huurtons and Voritors. I leave theSeething Bol Crushers alone for obvious reasons. I should, finally, be able to get one box in the CH tree. I am thinking about Empaty because of the trick command. The sad part is I will probably get two boxes in the TKA tree in the time it takes me to get the last quarter of a box. Oh well, such is the game.

I have also been agonizing about buffs. Don't get me wrong. One of my alts is a MTK/MD. I am not against docs and buffs. It just seems more exciting with the normal level of HAM. I am kinda at an impass here. I use Ubese armor that is pretty beat up at this point,. Beats the hell out of the Mabri I had before. It was cheap and hardly uber. The problem I have is with buffs and armor I will only have to keep an eye on the Mind bar. I do not need to grind this character. Heck, I am a MTK/MCH on one of my alts. If I want to play that I can and do.

Now, for the lovely Helanor.... I will win you over yet but that is another thread. lol I may just go tame a Gubber and we can have Gubber warsl My killer attack Goober will wipe the floor with yours in about 10 or so days. Tallk about watchin paint dry.... Ah well, She is a young vibrant flame haired goddes and I am an old balding man. Well, we can dream. You know we can dream that our pets would last more than 10 seconds against the FOTM in PVP. You know, now that I think about it, we are the profession of the dreamers. Not a slam by any means. A profession of people that are dreamers is not a bad thing. Sure beats the hell out of a profession of FOTM. Nicest people I have met, with the exception of the Lovely Helanor, have been either CH's. Crafters. or Doctors.

Well, I decided to go for the buffs. They were cheap and I had the money. Sound like a drug AA confessions. lol Well, I went to my favorite Dant Imporved Job Market and thought I would try Picket Plains Walkers. I also decided to experiment with my FrankenCupa.

He did quite well on the first run at the lair. He is going to be the low level CH leveler's dream. Level 12 with 58 % kinetic and 3400 Ham. The down side was his mind which was lower and you could probably incap the thing with a pea shooter. He is vunerable to about everything else. Poor guy is only a level 4 of 12 and I should have just let him romp until he got older. He will do a womping 20-40 damage when he grows up. lol The perfect pet for me right now.

Well, the first spawn is two Walkers and a baby Picket. I take a couuple of nips of brandy and head in. I take out the Walkers and the baby. I did not want to but can not tame it yet. My mind is pretty well beat up and I sit down for a break. The poor Cupas mind is tired, even though I only send him in at the end. I decide he is too young and call my trusty killer Kaadu mount. A normal tamed Kaadu.

Well, the lag is bad on Bria. It is really bad on Dant. I want the ability to teach my pets trick one tonight so I go on. Even though I am sometimes wainting 30 seconds for a response from SOE and that is with a 3meg a second cable modem. Well, I had forgotten about the down side of grouping with pets. I group with Oracle to keep an eye on him. I tap the lair and nothing. I wait and wait.... Two Walkers and a Picket show up in my face. I hit the first Walker and poor Oracle is incapped before I can land the second blow.. I suspect I would be too if I was not buffed. Well, I am a Novice TKA with a partial set of crappy Ubese so this is a ticklish situation but not deadly. Yes, that speaks volumes but that is another thread. I beat them into submisssion and heal Oracle. Darn, forgot to try that useful radial menu to revive and heal him to 1 point first.

Well, I sit an heal mind. Oracle is still giveing me 100 points more CH xp than the cupa so I stick with him. I ungroup him to protect him and start beating on the lair. Two more Walkers and a Picket spawn on top of me and have obviously gotten a few hits in before I saw them. Lag. Well, at least Oracle did not have to deal with them showing up with 4 or 5 hits already in. I finished the lair.

This is when things went even farther down hill. I mounted Oracle and rode of to the next mission 600m away. He poofed twice on the way. Finally got there and had to wait about 2 minutes for the lair to materialize. They all showed up at once. I duked it out with 2 more Walkers and a Picket but faithful Oracle just stood there. I stored him and recalled him wiith the same result. I finally gave up and stored him. I finished the lair on my own.

I made 21k but finally gave it up. I had made enough to be able to teach trick 1. This was my goal but this planet and server is now almost unplayable. I finally just walked the 1.5km back to town. The bike would poof after about 200 yards and Oracle was the same. Took an hour to do two missions becuase I am only novice and when you have to wait 2 minutes for the harvest option. Well, time to log. I have been dealing with pet poofing for a long time. I understand lag. But tonight the game was just unplayable. I wasted abot 2 hours worth of buffs. I played for an hour and gave up.

Ooh guess where I was this morning

None other than Dantmining out post on Bria but no distinguished baldinggrey gentlemenpassed myway sniff ... Poor Helene decided that tent just outside Arca was a bit hard on the old back when sleeping and took off for the lush grass on Dantooine for a few days. My poor rifle skills weren't up to much so I was shooting at Lesser Plains Bols and setting my 2 day old be Cu Pa, a nice little bargain off the bazaar, on them. Bless him he kicked away with his back legs like a brave little Cu Pa. I even got Splat out giggle.. err ok maybe that wasnt a good idea when he went splat at the first blow but the important thing was he tried giggle... even if that was because he never got time to hop away.. oops.

Ooh now that appeals to my sense of the ridiculous and an insane belief that first and foremost games should be fun and not work. Duelling Gubbers, oh yes, I can see that.. he he. Go on tame one, we can duel them in Cnet Starport.A grand Gubber Gladiatorial Tournament. Preferably in front of as many over armoured guys with compensatory big guns as possible oops I didnt say that lol.

Surprisingly I missed you in the cloning center, this is rather alarming for H in the other dimension is on a one woman crusade to visit every Cloning Centre on Starsider.I cant believe I didnt get eaten by a passing Voritor for H is normally their favourite food. Well I cant understand that myself, so I stick a lot of needles in them, it doesnt hurt that much. Or so I tell them before they bite me.

Ah well when last seen I was curled up near the mission terminal in the outpost... the ground is a bit hard and they dont allow tents sniff. And gasp no sofas in the cantina just hard chairs not like my lovely sofa in The Angry Bothan. And even worse no decent shops and hairdressers for miles lol. I'm going to be back on Bria either first thing in the morning my time or last thing tonight just yell if you see Helene turn up, my Cu Pa is raring to go bless him.

Well, the thought of the Fire Haird Goddes sleeping with the rabble of the Miners Outpost was intolerable. I am amazed that a person with you stellar qualities would not have a line of suitors longer than the buff line.of people wantigt to come to your assistance. I just had to remedy this intolerable situation.

Well, in my search for a Small Naboo house and a decent bed for you... I met Kobin. He is a Master Architect. in the city of Oasis. Very nice guy and thought I was nuts at first. I wanted to buy a small type 2 Naboo house and a large bed. I assume it was not his usual reqest. lol We chatted a bit and he talked me into joining his city. The city name is Oasis and the WP is -196 3539. It is almost exclusively true newbs.

He will give you a free house and speeder to join their city. The standard stuff. Anyone interested should send and email to Kobin or Psuedo or Kiwo. It is a good newb town. When I was there I was up to my Kaadu in newbs. Tallk about a shameless plug.... and it is close to the miners outpost.

Well, Kobin decorated a small two beroom house. I still looking for a bathroom but that is another thread. lol Very nice people. I sent Helanor an email telling her that it was available for her use. If I misspelled somthing the coords for your new house are above.

I had a blast tonight. I got close to zero points but had alot of fun. I tooks newbs, and I man real newbs out on a hunt. Most were marksman novices. Well, after getting swamped by Huurton Huntress and their companions on the first lair, it became apparent to me that they were true newbs. Poor Oracle the Killer Kaadu, he in no longer 100/1000. I sat them down and explained lairs. Then I explained tanking. It was all new to them.

Well, this group listened, for the most part. I taught them statagies. I explained the lair thing and how to pull. The only guy that I could not help was the Carbineer, I have never done that profession. All I could tell him was not to use an area attack and then had to explain what that was. They actually listened. It took a while and a few deaths but they finally understood that there is some stratagy to this game.

We killed various Huurtons, Pickets and the general wildlife on Dant.. They leveled so fast that I had to explain to them they did not have to run backj to the trainer until they had doubled the points they had now. I died three times. That is the most I have died in a very long time. I played tank with my Novice TKA so I took most of the beating. I sent my unnamed FrankenCadu to help who ever was in trouble. The little guy is now level 7. Well, I always ended up mind incapped and DB'd. It was, generally, caused by one guy that would novice pistol a Grassland Voritor Tracker. After healing him I had little mind left. I played un buffed and no brandy.

Seriously, it was the most fun I had in a long time. It is going to be back to the credit grind tomorrow. My shabby Ubeses is now ragged. I think the Jacket is now at 20%. It takes a beating when you stand there and do not use specials so the ranged newbs can fire away. I am also running low on Stims. lol Next time I may do it buffed. You ever try to keep 4 newbs alive? Heck, it is worse than trying to keep 4 non-ch pets alive. At least they follow the rules.

To my lady Helanor I made the accomodations as modest as possible. A simple two bedroom flat. Kobin also built me another house that will be placed on some mountaintop and the Skreechers will flap around it on patrol. Ok, so they are two hunters not skreechers... It is the thought that counts. I also had him beef up the locks on the outside door and the insides ones. to be safe.

Friday July 9th in the galaxy of Bria far far away from Starsider

Arrive at my new lodgings. Yay. MrHawat is a real gentleman, fear not those who worried for the virtue of that mad purple haired H she and Mr H have matching identicalrooms with lovely soft squishy big black satin beds, and carpets and real curtains sigh. 'Ooh'.I said, asI sank to the floor in the middle ofmy bedas it was so soft, this is certainly one up on the hard ground at Dant mining outpost, and even gasp better than my sofa in The Angry Bothan, but I miss the food and ale, and that chicken leg so dont worry H will be back whenever she needs feeding and where else can I track Vert's Screecher and drool.

So, comfy in my first home on Bria I set off to murder some more bol's. Baby Cu Pahas grown a bit but not much, but is managing quite well to get the odd blow in for 140xp per lesser plains bol yay. The baby bol managed 150 and I'd remembered to make some traps and hurl them as I attacked for my trapping xp. After two lairs I was almost up to trapping 2. Just got to remember to sit in camps making them now, I've got the scout xp for novice ranger already so H must persevere. Still only half way to my first CH box though sniff. When baby is grown a bit more and can manage it we'll go try tagging along with a hunting group if such a thing exists any more in this day of solo groups.I did meet a nice guy in the solo group I joined, an ex CH who just wanted to chat and had like most animal lovers kept all his pets and dreamed of going back to CH soon, see it's not so bad there are lots of us out there in disguise

Ah well time to go do some work for H's human so sadly H meandered off to her new home. Hmm, someone forgot to tell me about the guard dogs on duty lol. And wham before I knew it I woke up miles away on top of a stranger sigh. Ah well for a hospital bed this one isnt too hard and lumpy. If you see a Huurton Huntress though with long purple hairs hanging from it's mouth blast her into oblivion for me

Ooh a comfy bed.. Stampedes at full Cu Pa gallop to rest her aching bones.

I couldnt get to Bria last night, me and my friend went off doing the rebel hideout quests on Corellia after I'd re-stocked the pet shop, don't know why but we'd never got round to them before. Cor that Leia woman must have the same hairdresser as our dear Queen, only knowsone style. Terrible, you'd think as a princess she'd have a hairdresser on site. Tut tut.

Off to inspect my new lodgings, have a sleep and dream ofScreechers and waves grateful thanks..

Well, it is nice to know that the Flame Haired Goddes of Bria has a place to rest her weary head. I am honored that it was at my abode. It is with great regret that I acknowledge that I neglected to mention that we were within the Mininig Outpost Ring of Death. Around here mask scent is required. You never know what mission will pop up. I have killed every Huurton for miles, harvested their meat and burned their bones. Alas, there are just too many solo grouped missions for me to keep the neighborhood safe.

Well, I got my first two wild tames today. Not much a novice can tame on this planet. I rescued two Lesser Bols from some Voritor Dashers that were reaking havoc on their parents. I am very tight on space so I only taught one the commnads and named it LizardKiller. Well, after healing the poor guy up, I would wait until the lizard was next to dead and send him in. He got his revenge. lol Then I released him in the middle of a wild spawn of Seething Bol Crushers. I think he will be safe until he grows up. I got next to zero CH XP for it but it was fun.

Unfortunately, then the lag set in. It was manageable at first. I had to time the thing as to when send my pet in. It went from 50% on the creature to 75% then to to sendinging it in first. Then it got worse. The pet poofed constantly. He also stood there and did nothing. I was lucky if I got xp half the time.Commands like harvest took 40 to 80 seconds to respond. I got tired of waiting for the radialmenus. Hold on creature corpse, wait 45 seconds, select harvest and wait 45 seconds.... You get the idea. I am beginng to wonder if this whole platform is not based on an early version of Windows NT.

Well, I managed to get my first box in TK. You have to remember that the focus here is CH. I could have mastered TK in less than 4 days of play time. I have done that numerous times and made a ton of money in the process. Yeah, we are gimped and hated, so PHSSSST :-P Too bad they do not have an icon with a Smiley with his thumbs in his ears and the fingers waving. We would not want the one that has his thumb on his nose. lol

Basically, game became impossible to play yet again. I know this server is hard hit and this planet is the favored place to level and grind missions for cash. I also know that if I were dealing with it it would have been fixed long ago. Let me see, there are three people on Talus and only one on Rori time to dynamically reassign resources. Oh, wait, that would require some one with computer expertise. Never mind. I wrote programs to do this on mainframe computers in 1985. It will take SOE another decade or two.

Sorry, wanted Training I bad and thougt I might get in tonight. That is impossible now. Everything poofs and you have to sit and wait for a lair to spawn. Funny, draw a circle and then throw a dart at it. Now imagine that you can hit that point of the dart 10 times before that point know you are there... SOE game play.

Well, at least the Goddess of Bria has a reasonably safe place to stay. I shortened the title and thought that Goddess of SWG had a negative connotation. lol
