How exactly does it work? If something attacks me, does my pet auto attack them?
It depends on what your target is when you issue the guard command. If nothing is selected, they will auto attack anything that attacks you. If your best friend is selected, they willauto attack anything that attacks him/her.
The problem with 'guard' is that all your pets will go to one enemy creature. If a bunch of creaturesare attacking you then you better run. I only issue the command if I am going AFK.
Meatlumps won't kill my 3750 ham pet ![]()
How does vitality work anyway? My pet is at 92/100 , and his total health is down.
you can get vitality packs from BE's toheal this damage.

Wow, so someone could go afk in the middle of a meatlump spawn, and get 60-80 CH xp per kill with no fear of death, and PL CH no problem. Hmm.
I saw a pikeman do exactly this outside Corellia, but just him, no pets.
He was AFK, was right at the spawn point, and the swoops just aggroed on him automatically. He dispatched each one and waited however long it takes for the corpses to despawn, and the cycle begins anew.
I've been doing this (without being AFK)with my pets in meatlump/swoop/ragtag/mummer spawn points outside cities. I could just as easily do it with my FWG, but it's more fun for the pets to do it. For once, the ronto and the dew don't run away, because the NPCs can't hope to compete with them.
The credit return on these little farming exploits is probably superior to running missions for the equivalent amount of time.
What about having the guard command "on"and you find a baby in the wild? I used to use "follow" to turn this off and then would safely try and tame the creature. If Guard isn't toggled and the baby I'm trying to tame aggro's me .... my pet will eat them for lunch.
Can we get confirmation on the toggle?
The only way i have found that the guard commands always works, is to make sure i target myself (Ctrl + 1) then issue the command.
Its always worked for me.

That seems logical, from the description of the command I assumed it would guard an area, not a person.
Someone else posted that they were getting loot from doing this while being AFK, is there an autoloot function?
