I've been grinding xp on bull rancor missions the past 2 weeks, using the xp for the FS grind and hoping for a bull rancor baby.... after 2 FS skill boxes worth of bull rancors (200+ missions, over a dozen natural lairs), I'd pretty much given up on having a baby spawn.
Then today, as I'm about to polish off a mission spawn, out pops a baby and it comes after me. So naturally I spam peace, unequip my VKs and burst run away...
But... he keeps coming. After 120m, he's still after me. So I go in circles, trying to keep him in sight but get him far enough away to break aggro. Finally, after I got tired, I hopped on my bike and tried circling out of range. Finally, he breaks aggro so I turn around hurriedly, putting on my taming clothes and popping my taming food and putting up mask scent.
Then the most awful thing in the entire history of this game happened.
He poofed.
Gone.
Return to the lair, and a fresh spawn was waiting for me. No baby.

^ What he said. That is probably the worst thing Ive heard in a long time. Ultra rares shouldnt despawn unless killed or tamed IMO.

Heh, suppose any CSR's would buy the argument that it's the same as having a weapon you just purchased 'poof' out of your inventory and that's why they should spawn one for me to tame as a replacement?

I had this happen to me while hunting a swamp stalker i reallllly wanted... i know it doesnt compare to a bull rancor but i know how you feel

I feel your pain, but it will never be as bad as mine. Sooomuch time spentlooking for a baby spawn, and right as I find 2, yes count them 2 from the same lair, my mind disease takes over and incaps me 3 times leaving me dead staring at 2 baby bull rancors standing over me laughing. I havent been back to look since.... *forever heart broken* /sigh

I feel your pain, I hate the despawning that occurs. It sucks! I've never seen a bull baby but I'm absolutely positive
that when I find one the same thing will happen to me. It's just my luck.

Man I hate to tell you this but when one baby spawns from a lair, even when it poofs, there is a very good chance that another one will pop from same lair if you leave stay out of range for a minute or two and come back. One of my guildies told me he killed a baby bull rancor the other morning and I was on when it happend and I must have ranted for like 30 minutes over him killing it -- lol he thinks i am nuts. He doesn't understand how rare they are. He has promised not to kill the next one. Probably just so he doesn't have to hear about it lol!

I mourn for your loss. I have not had tyhis happen to me, but have feared it time after time. But to have had it happen with a Bull Rancor is just wrong.
Creatures seem to be following for a much greater distance over the last couple of months than I ever recall. I had a Greater Sludge Panther chase me for 3K the other day. I was on my speederbike and just could not get him out of range. The problem is that to get them to lose aggro, that range is also then they tend to poof. Not right I tell you, just not right.
Good luck and I hope this does not make you give up the quest.

The first time I ever saw a baby screecher it went for me after trying to tame it :/ and yep it did the same thing only thing i can think of is that it was so far from the lair that it de-spwaned??? But now I have 2

says it all. I have had this happen to me. I think anyone who has been a Master CH for a good enough time hunting for the RARE pet will experience this. You should have gotten on your bike and head to /way 0 0 , that is SWGs nest for poofed souls.
