Thread: Something to mix with master ch that works well?

I been seeing a few different master creature handlers talk about different things to work with mch . I seen a few chat about tkm, rifleman and even seen one mch cover about master doc. Those don't sound to bad but not sure how good master doc would be less you did not do pvp at all and just maybe pve on side. So i just thought i would see what everyone else is using along side of master creature handler ?

sadly not good.

cos the damage output of our creatures sux now as compared to higher end npcs like Night sister etc.

However on a positive note if u are a CH + doc who doesnt solo at all but hunt in big grp, u can be a reasonable tanker (provided u have tons of pet stims n high end human stims with u)

Ur pet will last VERY VERY long as long as u just keep healing.

Currentlymy best guess of a good templatefor pve is either:

master rifleman + master CH + some novice medic (my own template)

or

master swordsman + master CH + some novice medic. (although i never understand why a elite melee wants to be mch since they r better off melee stacking for better defense. =D)

This is because this 2 class provides the highest DPS in this game currently.

If you don't want to PVP and just want to play in groups, you can go MCH/BE/Medic. Then you can heal, tame pets, and make pets. That's what I'm doing.

That's my choice as well. Nothing as enjoyable as creating a pet, taming it, watching it grow, and watching it kick ass!

Actually, I'm grinding out Master Pikeman (for the second time) and I'm 5 boxes away from MCH. And to make reference on why an elite melee wants to be mch. I for one do it because I like being an army of one. Even if I"m the strongest part of that army. Just something about going out and taming animals and having them along side you. That and getting the oos and ahs out of n00bs when you start pulling them out.

I am master pikeman and CH 3 2 1 4, it is a bit difficult now to choose what to do, i have to fight the nightsister alot to find good

loot weapons, so far pets arent usefull with the ns, they die very quick, and for lower creatures i dont have the patience to wait 15 sec to pull the pet out and wait for almost 60sec to store it again. I want to drop CH but i would really miss some of my pets. It is still fun just take a ride with my bantha and tame interesting creatures i see on the way.

Hmm, this post has nothing to do with the oringal thread.

For the orginal poster, i think all combat professions work well with CH.

I'm MCH / MBE / Pistoleer 0004 at the moment. I can fight decently in groups and solo up to CL 80 or so without too much difficulty. MBE is a great profession to take after you have been a CH for a while. You know exactly what you want to make, and can turn out some truly killer pets.

After I'm done with BE I'm taking advantage of the new BH requriements and going...

MCH, BH 0040, Pistoleer 0034, Novice Medic. Its very nice if you want to do the pistol thing. Much faster and more accurate than master pistoleer. You get the mind attack and fire bleed and the scatter pistol cert. Pluss you can fool around with carbines, rifles etc if your inclined to. You get ranged mitigation 2 (although you could swap that for some dodge, or the abbility to track jedi by moving the pistol grips exp elsewhere. Also decent for PVP I think. You have good speed and accuracy with pistol (both 100+. You have DOTS, Health and Mind attacks, good damage type options (acid, energy, electrical, kinetic, heat, stun) and of course your pets to slap endless state effects on people, (intimidate, blind, stun, dizzy, posture down, poison etc...). Not uber but not half bad.

ch can really be paired with anything combat related. my template will be master ch, master tk, medic 4440. ch i keep for the "fun factor". i like it as a prof, and don't think i'll dump it anytime soon.

rifleman is very popular with ch because you send your pet into tank and keep youself as far away from harm as possible. sounded ok, but after watching a tka master wade through a whack of storm troopers, i couldn't pass that up.

experiment and see what you like...

Yep, going Pike, CH, and Ranger 0040 here too... Eventually. My only concern is, I think, this template uses all 250 skill points. I'm going to feel a tad vulnerable without my stimpacks to hand. I might actually try the varous combat profs to see which works best. It's going to be a while before the CB turns up, so I may as well play around a bit till then.

The reason I think Pike goes well with CH is that Pikeman generally take a s**t kicking compared to the other combat profs, but they can dish out a good clout and have various area and spin attacks to hit multiple mobs. In this sense, your animals will help take some of the brunt off you and, in turn, your area/spin attacks can make up for the lack of danage your animals are dishing out.

To anyone using Pike, though, one word of caution. Watch your HAM like a hawk. We have HUGE HAM costs for our specials which can, literally, kill you.

/sigh We'll see how I go, I guess.

Try any Melee.. you can fight alongside the Pets and heal them with Petstims...

In my case, i go for Sword. But tried out TKA, and was fine too.

For me it's Master CH/ Master Rifleman with Novice Medic. I use a level 69 Narglatch to tank most lairs like Mokk/Jantas and even Bull Rancors. I wait till they all agro him, then spam Flushingshot 2. It's a strong area attack, and as long as I have a couple Brandys, it takes just under a minute to drop everything and the lair, and only 1 Stim B to heal Health and Action, and one or 2 PetStim Cs or Ds.If I move fast and get lucky on the terminals, I can pull 10-14 missions an hour, 30K+ a mission, it's not a bad living. It's nice coming home after a long day of running missions with a fat wallet and 23 BF. The only armor I wear is Boots and Gloves for the attachments I have in them. I really only Buff for Nightsisters and Krayts nowadays, and I have soloed Elders and Giant Canyon Krayts with this template, and when I hunt withmy Guild I feel a valuable part of the team. I was kicking around the idea of dropping 2 trees of Scout to get Pistol Tech 4, but with the 5 second weapon delay it may just be better to kite and hope the pet gets the attention ofMob that might suddenly agro me.
