I just got Novice Creature Handler today and I'm wondering what would be some good pets to try and Tame at Novice. I've looked around but so far all I've been able to tame are two dwarf Nunas. I tried a slum rat, but I kept failing. Any help here wou7ld be great. Thanks

I'm Zabrak, by the way, if that makes a difference.

Hi there DragonRider. Zabrak makes no differnce

At Novice, unfortunately you dont get much "good" stuff to train. However, the better ones tamable at this level include the Rock Beetle, the Mountain Krevol, and the Cowardly Gurreck.

The first can be found easily on Tatooine, the second Imnot sure about, the third on Endor.

hope that helps.

At Novice CH, you get good xp off just about any succesful taming attempt. They need to be non-aggro, first of all. And they can't be above level 15 as adults.

I spent most of my time as novice CH on Tatooine. I tamed every low level non-aggro baby I came across, using the TTR method (Tame, Train, Release). The most common were rock beetles, rock mites, nunas, womp rats (and lesser WR's), and zucca boars.

Make sure you train them in all the commands before you release them. You'll get around 100 xp for the tame, and then another 100 for each command you successfully train.

Also, read the FAQ that Crooth posted. It's stickied at the top of the forum. Lots of great info in there! You would search a long time and never find a better resource than this forum, for a Novice CH.

Hello, I am a new CH and I am wondering in what order should I learn new skills in the skill tree. I am also looking for the best place to get CH xp easily.

for myself i couldnt resist getting high lvl creatures first so i went 3-2-0-0 then i went to Management III and was 3-2-0-3
and when i got management III the other bars went up much faster.

If you have a mind tolerant of boring XP grinding, i would go Management III and get the double pets for double XP killing small things with two small creatures. But if you're playin missions and stuff, i would get 1-1-0-0 maybe first then 1-1-0-3

But keep in mind. Double the pets at Management III is double the progress rate.

Hey everyone,

I just got Novice Creature Handler this afternoon, and was wondering if any of you had some tips as to how I should start out. I'm looking for what types of pets I should use right now, and what kind of pets I can tame (and where I can get them). Thanks for any help.

I suggest to try to tame a Spiked Krevol or Horned Krevol. They live on Naboo and they look like beetles. You can find them in bunches about 1000m from a town. I find them most often in the hills to the west of Moenia on Naboo. Other planets might have good pets, but I did my early CH adventuring on Naboo so I am not sure what other planets may have to offer.

As far as low level pets go. Might want to try... Squalls on Rori. They have decent HaM. Perhaps the Kimos on Talus work well too, they certainly seem dangerous.

if you want one of the best low level tank go get a rock beetle from tatooine they are great tanks and have decent armor....too bad the next patch will kill that but they are one of the best pets by all accounts, and very easy to find. Well worth a trip to the desert. try around bestine/AH to find them
