Thread: Fastest mount?
What is the fastest creature mount and is the BE version the same or not?
Thanks
I confirm ![]()
the two brids are the fastest, with the rest beeing slower. (The rest are just as fast)
Greetings All,
The birds are indeed faster, but the gallop on my Brackaset goes for about 2.5K, and it has aquicker recovery time.I can cross many more water obstacles without having to swim.My Brackaset can also be effective in battle if need be, and as a Creature Handler, many of my other pets have less difficulty keeping up if I should desire the additional company.
There was a post a few days ago going into more detail concerning the subject. On shorter trips, the faster mounts clearly have the advantage, but on the longer treks, things begin to even out. I tend to set waypoints farther away, so for me, the difference tends to be inconsequential.
Cheers,

my carrion spat moves at 400m/minute standard, and 600m/minute at a gallop (average numbers).
the best way to test this is to start moving, then type
/way; /pause 60; /way
you'll drop WP's to start and finish with a minute between them... for more accurate numbers, just extend the test with
/way; /pause 60; /way; /pause 60; /way... etc.
I'd do it, but I'm headed to work (your weekend is my week, and vice-versa).
vehicles, btw, move at about 900m/minute, and a toon with +125 terrain negotiation moves at 90m/minute when prone and crawling.

Was there some kind of maximum size that giant carrion spats were allowed to get before they could no longer be trained as mounts?
Also, it would seem that kaadu get to negate any slowdown in speed penalty for running through water. Or maybe all mounts do; I'll have to check that.
And that waypoint measuring rod sounds like an easy enough idea. I'll give that a try.
Once a giant carrion spat grows to CL12, it's as big as it can be and still be a mount. That's when you get the message from the system about stunting growth, assuming it has already been trained as a mount.
Should you NOT have the ability to train a mount, the spat will continue to grow past CL 12. HOWEVER, you can still train the spat as a mount; it will revert to the CL 12 stats when you try to train it as a mount once you've aquired the skill (at Management IV)if you say "yes" to stunting growth. You get the stunt growth option once, to the best of my knowledge; if you say "no" to it, the giant carrion spat in question will never again have the option to be trained as a mount.
