I am thinking of making a new character which i will master creature handler with, being that, i am wondering if the +10 creature taming makes any differece to a master creature handler.

I wouldent mind being a wookie, having the high stats, i dont really like to wear armor anyways, but i dont see any high fation wookies walking around i like the way i look.

Post-patch, the wookie bonus will mean nothing for all practical purposes.

If I remember right there are only a couple of critters only a wookie can tame.

hmm is that true?

I sure hope so, cause wookies need a bit of help.

I mean, no armor already kicks our butt in pvp.

Give the wookies a bone.

Nope, that is not true, there is nothing a wookie can tame that anyone else with the same skills can't post patch. There is nothing a wookie currently can tame that anyone else can't, just not as soon.

Don't discount the Wookie. While ultimately the wookie doesn't offer moe abilites or more pet selection, it still does give you a better taming percentage advantage, which just means it might take fewer tries to tame something difficult. While it's not a game changing advantage, it will remain useful when shooting for harder babies in more agressive surroundings.

Now if I had designed the race adantages, they wouldn't have been flat skill mod numbers, as that just makes some combos (like wookie creature handler) more common than they might normally be, and at Master all races should be about at the same place no matter what race they chose. In my opinion a better solution would just be a slight xp mod for learning certain skills. So, instead of wookies getting better stats on creature handling, they just would learn it a bit faster since they are naturals at it. This would make the rodian CH not feel like they were at a disadvantage really, just that they need to put in a bit more time devoted to the profession than someone who came from a race that naturally favored it. Now wouldn't that allow people ultimately better options? You could play any race/profession combo without feeling like you really should play a Twi'Lek if you want the best dancer, for example.

I know that Wookies get Bowcasters, but I thought I rememberd reading something a long time ago, that said there was also a Wookie melee weapong. Did I just imagine this? Or is there such a beast?

Thanks

There's the ryyk blade, the traditional wookie blade, but any race can make them.

What is the bonus a wookie gets for being a CH? I was on dathomir and I saw a Wookie MCH who had a Graul Mauler anda Rancor out at the same time. Now, i'm pretty new at this CH business, so I don't know what kinda rancor it was, but i am certain the other wasa Graul Mauler. Plus I checked to make sure he was the master of both. Maybe I was just sleepy, but is that possible? Or was I just seeing things? I didn't think the max lvl of pets whats high enough to do that. I was just curious because i'm about to start a new character on a different server and if being a wookie really makes a big difference when it comes to being a CH then i'll be a wookie. This obviously beings me to mynext question, is it worth being a wookie if i plan on beinga CH? Thanx in advanced!

most likely the mauler was not full grown maulers are 34 and gnarled rancors(lowest) are 45. 70 is the cap so the mauler was probably a baby still

Ah ok, I didn't think about either not being full grown.

Is it worth it though? Being a wookie that is. That's my main concern.
