Excellent, thank you.
Unfortunately my new pets wont be ready in time to take advantage of the double xp but oh well. I'll do it the old fasioned way.
Thanks for the info

Ahem, but anyway, the problem is XP is now gained in a rather annoying exponential fashion based on the level of your pet compared to the level of the enemy. Before this nerf to CH XP, (It was a month or 2 before the CU) a level 1 creature would gain the maximum possible XP from kiting, say, an SBD, which was about 2000 XP a kill I believe. With the nerf, instead of a creature gaining more XP for fighting higher level creatures, the XP actually gets LESS the lower your creature is than the enemy, and will still get less if your creature is higher. The high point of XP seems to be about 75ish percent of the enemies level, im not really sure, I think Joker tested it out once on some Pikets. Try using pets which are only a bit lower CL than your target, if it's at all possible for you.
Nope...........CH XP is now based on the level of your character NOT the level of your pet and issplit between your normal weapon XP and CH XP based on damage done IE out of 1,000 possible XP if you do 75% of the damage with a rifle and your pet does 25% of the damageyou get 750 rifle XP and 250 CH XP.

Unless it has been changed very very recently I am 99.9999999999999999999999999999999% sure that is the way it works.
This is correct.
Last night, while in a group hunting a good meat spawn. After capping all my weapon xp, I decided to just sit back and use my pet. I was getting (because of double xp) 10k - 12k of CH xp (group level was 80 and we were fighting creatures between CL78 and CL82. Since I wasn't using my weapon, my pet would get the full xp.
I had capped my CH xp in a matter of an hour or less.
[edit] As it seems to be the case with every combat profession. Grouping (with other players) is the best way to gain xp.

There is no quick and easy way to do it in my opinion CH is probably the second hardest grind in the game next to Jedi. CH XP is calculatedbased on the difference in the CL of the creature/NPC your fighting and the CL of your character NOT the CL of your pet. Remember you get a 10% XP bonus for every level your targets level is above yours and you get a 10% XP reduction for every level your levelis above that ofyour target.
I already answered one of your problems in my sticky. I'll add the answer to the second half shortly after this post.
Quoted phrase: "There is no quick and easy way to do it in my opinion CH is probably the second hardest grind in the game next to Jedi"
Not quite true. I was in a group of 4 people (including myself) and in less than an hour (I thinkit was just3 mission lairs) I had capped my CH xp and could have trained in two skills boxes if I had wanted to. While it is true that I was getting double xp. That means normally it would have taken me just 6 mission lairs to do the same.
That night, I had earned a total of 2.6 million weapon xp (rifles, pistols and carbines), all of which could have gone to CH if I had chosen not to attack with my weapons.
Grouping with other players makes any combat class easier to level. If you are soloing, then CH xp will be very difficult to get.

No that is the answer to some other question like "How do lvls of CH,pet, and target relate when determineing XP".
It would seem the answer to my question would be "you get a higher XP grant based on the ratio of damage done by the pet vs. the CH"
Try acutualy reading a post. You might just learn something.![]()
