Thread: Issues With The CH Necklace

Ok the expansion has been out since Tuesday and to my knowledge not a single CH has got it including those in my multi-server commuunity BEAST who are actively looking for it.In my honest oppinionthey are making it way to hard to get this item by not making it a quest item. In the Rotw expansion all creature mounts were made as quests sothis necklace shouldhave been introduced in the same manner.

Here are some other issues for this item

The Jedi robe dropping already has been posted not to work for Wookiees and Ithorians. It is very likely this necklace will have the same issue. Since a large number of CHincludingmyself are wookiees I forsee this being a very big issue with the necklaceonceCH figure out how to make it.

Because the cube uses a random processto craftwith over 300,000 possibilities that could also mean that the same formula will not be repeatable or guarantee the same outcome. I just am theorizing on thispointbut as I collect more repeat glowy items will update this when I try toexperiment with exact same combo of items.

It is very likely this item will not be tradeable making non ch playerssimply destroy it if they inadvertantely craft it and dont want to keep it for decoration. This should be an item thatcould be sold or given to a creature handleras a gift as afterall it is jewelry and players should be given the option of trading it. Once again am theorizing if this is not tradablebut find it verylikely that it is not.

All that should be required to be used for this item is being a Master CH. Combat level should not reflect using this item as there are many Master CH who have a non combat profession such as Dancer orBio engineer. It is especially amusing with Bio engineer as they can craft a creature that is lvl 80 yet they cannout use simply because their Combat levelisnt high enough to possess the necklace. If that were the case then bio engineers should be able to control anything over lvl 60 as most bio engineer/master ch are under the CL of 60.

Finally if the necklace does not have an ADK placed on it and drops to0 will the CH mod still work. ADK on my galaxy cost roughly 25 mil nowadays so it wont be cheap if adk protection is needed for this item.

I think the devs need to do something to make this item both easier to locate and allow all Master CH to use this item. Take this necklace needle out of the haystack and give us an easier method to track this item down as there is no reason to make it this difficult to possess it. I can understand that it still needs to be challenging to acquire it and if it were made apart of some extremely high lvl creature which u need to kill in order to obtain then I would be all for that. Bottom line is thatwe need clarification on how to get thisitemandif swg is determined to keep it apart of the crafting system with the Cube at least tell us what 3 items we need to make it.

ToOW was rushed. While it seems like a nice expansion, I wish a little more thought was put into it. I mean you have swarms of toons camping a quest boss so many people cannot even finish. I hope they fix that soon. As for the necklace, I was hoping that it would be a quest. Trying to find a random combination on the cube is not good at all...

Here's the deal:

I'm all for mysterious ways to obtain these items. However...

I do not trust this development team for a nanosecond to not have this thing bugged to high heaven.

They have proven, again and again, that they cannot get these things right.

Ideally, the path to Jedi would be hidden and mysterious, and would be different for every player. At first, it was actually different, but because of the nature of it, there was a guaranteed way of getting to it...master every last professioni in the game.

Now the path is laid out as an open book...and the thing is, with this development team, it MUST be, because the faith of the players in the developers to get things right, to make blind, bug filled alleys not possible, was long ago lost. The process MUST be transparent to know that you're not wasting your time on some path that goes nowhere due to developer incompetence. They've used the 'working as intended' canard about 100 times to many for anyone to take it serious.

Because something that today is 'working as intended' in two weeks is suddenly revised in a hotfix that is not announced, but the players nearly instantly find it out. The developers constantly underestimate the players' ability to see through their subterfuges. The open contempt they often display does not go unnoticed. They imagine they're dealing with the 13 year olds flashing their glowsticks in Theed, but they ignore the fact that their prime audience is older, often older than the developers themselvs and many are IT professionals who can see the dysfunction behind the game through years of experience.

Actually I think I have found where the CH necklace was supposed to go and obviously has not been implemented. The quest originates from examineing tanray meat in the mensix fascilities cantina. The quest is as follows go kill 20 tanray. Its harder then it sounds.

You finally wipe out your 20th tanray and the quest reward is truely phat 7000 credits I almost doubled over when I saw this what your kidding right arent these quests supposed to lead to another quest where you can get a real reward. Needless to say this is the only quest where I did not get rewarded. So my theory is this is where the ch quest was supposed to be. Either the quest is woefully broken or the devs decided to rip out the CH necklace all together.

Here is my theory for this as of now.

Come tuesday all players are going to find a nice reward in their backpacks a tradeable ch necklace aint that loverly. Notice I said all we probabally bought this expansion for nothing, or CH will just get the ability patched in once again no mustafar requirement.

I think alot of people are placeing their hopes in it being a chondar item hopefully not otherwise it may take forever for someone to loot the proper glowy to make one. I pray its not in this damned box.

LOL, funny you say that, I was working that very quest in beta, when Space Rancor replied in my thread and dropped the hint about it being the cube. I tried it because I didn't remember seeing it in there the day before, and they had said they would be adding the"ability to tame" to the game soon. I had just finished that Beetle Bead quest, which BTW also just pays out cash! I really thought Id get at least a decorative beetle necklace like the one they talk about. One good thing about the way the quests work here is ya can work on multiple quests at the same time. First ya get yourself the exploration quest, then add the beetle bead, the blistomok rug, the lava flea bounty, the maneater, and jundank skull....then you can get credit for all the kills for each quest as you just go about your business. Your 5 beetles ya need for explore, also count towards the bead one, and so on. Ya, I know, Big Deal.... Lol

Actually, there are multiple quests on Mustafar that grant you nothing but credits, and they can all be taken repeatedly to get more money. I guess they are supposed to just be a way to make some money. Here's what I've found of just credit missions:

Lava Flea Hunt - Gotten from a Bounty scroll about Lava Flea's. Its in the room with the junk dealer in Mensix, on top of some crates near a miner. 7000 credits (even though the mission says you get 7500), must kill 15 Lava Flea

Kabuza Beetle Beads - Gotten by examining the bowl of kabuza beetle beads on the floor near the junk dealer in Mensix. 8000 credit reward, must get 15 Kabuza Beetle Beads that you have a random chance of getting when you kill Kabuza beetles.

Beasts from the East - Gotten by looting an Ivory Talrus Horn and examining it. Not sure on the reward as have not yet completed, but its kill 20 Talrus

The Deadly Raptors - Gotten by looting a Blistmok Heart and examining it. 7500 credit reward, kill 20 blistmoks

The Jagged Teeth - Gotten by examining the Medical Hologram in the clone facility of Mensix. 8000 credit reward, gather 10 or 15 (can't remember for sure) Jagged Teeth by killing Jundak's

I haven't found the aforementioned Tanray mission, but I guess its the same thing.

There is at least one quest I've found on Kashyyyk that is the same thing, the "varactly population control" quest that is handed out in the SE corner of the Kachirho map, near the guy who sends you to rob Broken Fang of her egg. You can take it multiple times, you collect varactyl feathers, turn them in, and get a cash payout, nothing more. It's basically like a destroy mission off a terminal on any of the original 10 planets.

I wonder if it's tradable to non-ToOW purchasers. I CH friend of mine traded for a Lava Flea last night, and he is not buying ToOW...

It would be excellent if I could use cl80's when I hit MCH... without dropping the 30ducks.

As for the argument of "The Jedi are bored, give them content and they'll go away." I actually do agree with you. However, there are two major problems to this argument. First, it would take a lot more coding time than just disabling the Old Man on one server. Second, all that time that would be devoted to a SINGLE PROFESSION is not being devoted to fixing bugs, adding general content, or making new expansions for the rest of the game population. So this is a classic problem of the needs of a few over the needs of the many. I can name seven professions that serve little to no purpose right now. You want more work done on one that's already absorbed an estimated 75% of the coding time for the past year. In my opinion, it's time to get the Jedi off the nipple and give the general population their turn.

Maybe it wasnt a coincedent did you or anyone doing this quest recieve any glowing items during the process of collecting the 7k if so maybe it is part of the recipe? And it sucks for you Wookies and Ithorians might not being able to wear I guess you chose that Race for the bonus taming points.Good thing I am a Bothan.

In response to the CH Taming Necklace and other wearables and the Wookiee/Ithorian issue:

I'm very afraid that this limitation is the reality... again.
