Hi all,

I'm confused, I'm currently 3112 in CH and I've gotta say, it's fun, however I've just been reading all these posts about the CH proffesion and the current nerf's/problems....

If Creatures have indeed been nerf'd to the point of useless in PvP (and to be honest PvE) what's the point of the proffession?

I will master it and hope by the time I've done that, the dev's have turned back the clock to the day when Creatureswere useful...I'm sure it makes more sense to increase the amount of dmg a creature does, afterall, they are creatures! Big high impact creatures!....

Any Comments/Helps/Tip/Feeback on the CH profession for me would be greatly appreciated!

All the best

c.

Been CH for months and still loving it. Holding out for the combat balance, maybe then we can hold our own without our pets being slaughtered by 2400 HAMBuff, 80% Kinetic Armour wusses Yes I'm one of them...

Eto: "...muhaha - Fight my pretties - fight!!! muhaha!!"

Thanks for the feedback guys,

I have to agree with what Eto said above It's what I currently do right now with my selection of three pets. All combined, my three pets, all of them natural and not BE, have intimidate, stun, dizzy, action and health poisons and an area affect health poison (Merek Toxic Battlelord!!). I back them up with master pistoleer and stacking healthshot1 and 2 on whatever they're fighting.

My guildmates seem to love it, as it's three more targets the other side needs to deal with and it spreads the damage around more, plus the pets are dishing out all of these special attacks without worrying about HAM costs, having items in the inventory, etc. Enemy medics and doctors find their mind pools draining as they keep others healed from the posion. And should a Jedi be stupid enough to face all three, he will quickly find his force pool draining as he keeps healing the poison and state affects my pets keep landing.

There are alot of things a CH can do to contribute, you just need to be patient, have a thick skin to deal with all the barbs and teasing you're going to get from your guild, like "Dude, you should been pistoleer/fencer to stack defenses and get more dodge ... now get your pet off me before it poisons me."

Looking to the future is a good way to keep with the proffesion . However, i find myself using my pets more and more in the wild so that instead of getting buffed, I can wander the wilderness to place harvesters just using my pets to get rid of anything thats in my way that i couldn't handle unbuffed .

I agree with skitty it is fun

To be a ch today has nothing to do with being usefull lol its the afinity we all hold for creatures that is what keeps us here.

true enough that we all wish for better days and any role in the swg. for some the memory of the glory days keep hopes alive. for newer people the thrill of the tame keeps the excitement in playing this game.

Pets are viable in PVE and you can accomplish much, PVP is another matter.

It all depends on your personality and what you consider fun in this game.

hope you stay ch, many aretrying the professionsince the JTL brought some fresh blood and the greater are chances that we may be heard and fixes come our way. strength in numbers as they say lol

Like everyone says, its just fun. I am curently working through the village but am planning on keeping all my pets. But sometimes I remember back when my Rancor would really strike fear into any PvP conflict. Maybe some day........?

As im part of a pvp oriented guild im preparing more and more for pvp with the pets, so im trying out all kinds of cats, and is going to try the giant crystal snake soon as well
It may not kill the opponents, but it sure causes mayhem in their attacks
I used two cats as early as yesterday against some imps, believe it or not, one was still alive after I've been killed

And then there is that enormous satisfaction you get when you have caught a good pet

currently the only point to our profession is the fun.

and if you know how to use it the ability to hunt larger game solo without buffs.

However after 1 year of being balanced in accordance with a longer defunct game, the devs seem unwilling to admit "they done us wrong"

the only thing we are gonna get for our trouble is the personal satisification that people like me will have in knowing we stuck through it.

That being said there are plenty of things that need fixing beyond the CU. The rate of xp gain is far too slow compared to any other combat profession. In the time I have gotten to 2414 ch I have maxed my rifle xp 8x that's right 7.2 Million + rifle xp to 696000 CH xp. Useing my creatures I have found the various sweet spots, but it still takes forver to master at the current rate. Bring back the XP per creature instead of only getting the xp as if you had used 1. I grinded out a MBH on another server faster than I am regrinding CH, and that is with hardcore hunting.
