I'm not sure if anyone posted this, but I hadn't seen it. I figured out exactly how incap recovery works.
Incap recovery does not work if your pet is incapped due to running out of health or action. That's what stims are for. Incap recovery ONLY works if your pet is incapped due to mind. It adds a tiny bit of mind pool so that you can have your pet do tricks to recover.
Hope that clears things up.

Thanks.
*wonders if she has ever had a pet incap due to mind damage*

Hmm... every time I use it before the 30 second timer expires I get a red -5 over the head of the pet, so I think it actually applies to health as well. It's like it is saying 'you put 5 health in but I am going to take it away because the timer is not up'

Ah, yeah that makes sense. I do carry around pet stims for emergencies, but regular stims tend to be a staple. Incap recovery makes sense as a Mind-healer, I suppose.
I just wish the patch note had been a little clearer.

But it doesn't add to your pets health at all, it adds to its mind IF it is mind incapped. If its not, and it has some mind left, what you might be seeing (and I can test this tonight) is possibly what it is supposed to do is take five from health and add it to mind if needed. If its not needed because there is some mind in the pool, then it just takes five health. I guess that would be a bug, but I can't see where it would be anything worth complaining about.

Hmmm.. I've only had to use incap recovery once and it did not work (from this post I can see that it was because my pet had only been health incapped) However, my pet stim did not work either. I tried incap recovery and got zilch. Tried a stim and still had an incapped pet (and the stim didn't raise his health any). Waited a minute in case there was a timer involved and tried again with negative results. Finally got fed up after about 10 minutes and stored him. Checked him in the datapad and saw that he had no vitality loss (was killed by a greater shaupaut) so thought that either the stim or the incap recovery must have raised him to 1 ham point but left him incapped until he was stored and re-called.

That's actually a known bug from before incap recovery. The stim does not work, or in some reports it doesn't appearto work but actually did, until you either store the pet, the server does its little mini-reset (channel information complete, that you see from time to time), or the server resets for the night. Was this by any chance on a mounted animal, or an animal that could be mounted? It seems to be more prevalent on those than "normal" pets.

Well, this just makes the ability even more worthless as far as I can see. I, personally, have never had a pet get incapped because of Mind. It's always the Health bar that goes first. Guess I need to fight more Riflemen so I can see if Incap Recovery works.

I actually had to use it three more times tonight, again against wildlife. I was on Endor grouped with several other people, including a doctor, and so if my wrix's mind went down her stims didn't work. The other CH ran out of stims very quickly, so recovery kept me in the game for quite a while.
