You know, I really think they should incorperate ysalamiri into the game as a counter to all the Jedi running around. You could have CHs training and caring for these creatures. I think in this way it would make CHs more revelant to the game again. I mean think how cool that would be, you run into a Jedi, bust out the ysalamiri and bam, no more force powers for like 64m in every direction. I would also add that they are very easy to kill but if you had a good team and something to protect them the Jedi would either have to fight it out using just there "regular" fencing prowess and attempt to incap/kill (I like a kill idea better) the ysalamiri or they can try to run like normal people from the battle. Also I would add that only a smugglerscan aquire Ysalamiri through their dodgy connections butonly CHswould be able to control/use them.

I was just thinking of this the other day and thought I'dput it out there for eveyone to talk about.

I like this idea as well. A special BE quest would be really sweet. Some love for our Bios! Wonder what the Jedi would say...

The question was posed long ago.
The dev answer to it was that the creatures didn't exist until some 5 year after ROTJ (even though they just weren't discovered). This game being set in the time period inbetween ANH and ESB they have no plans to disrupt the time period.

Now what bringing SBD's and BD's into the fray does to the time period (especially ones that can kick more ass than a redneck in a donkey kicking contest) is disrupt it, but that is in the name of content.

Also 1 major problem is these creatures cannot be tamed. They are sessile creatures, and grow into trees and develop a symbotic relationship with them. They were carried on modified backpacks so you would have to "equip" them.

Personally I am for it, seeing they can take control of our pets we should have a counter to them but the devs already said no.

Yeah but Rancors didn't come in until ROTJ and Dathomir wasn't until two years after. It's pretty lame for the Devs to use "continuity" as the reason not to impliment a simple creature when they used a whole publish for the "1337" few Jedi, which are supposed to be in hiding in this time period. That is if they even exist at all.

Just my two cents. I'm just a Wookiee, pay no attention to me hehe!

I just don't understand the Devs. The use the timeline to protect the Jedi but when you think about it in this timeline the Jedi aren't even supposed to be visible. Much less dueling each other at the coronet space port! But this was not to be a Jedi bashing thread. I just want a reasonable answer from them (the Devs, SOE) as to why they wouldn't do this. This "not in the timeline" stuff doesn't cut it. As the previous poster pointed out that Rancors didn't "exist" or have a home planet in SW LoreuntilCourtship came out. The only thing we knew about them was that Jabba had one.

I just want to see some type of balance added to combat the Jedi "invasion" that is happening now that publish 9 is live. Also I wasn't suggesting that CHs would be able to call them at random like Rancors or whatever other animal you have. I just think that only CHs should be able to equip them. This is just so that not everyone would be running aroundwith a "Ysalamiri Pack" Plus it would help make CHs more revelant to the game as it currently is. Since we all know you guys got the ugly end of the Nerf Bat =.

Does anybody?

They seem to hold to the rules they set only when they feel like it.

Yea but the Dowsen(sp?) is a rare creature on Coroscant in the underground tunnels that a few Jedi ran into in "DMSH" book. It was a large creature that can block th eforce and sclaes can keep a person hidden from the froce for a time. So What i'm saying there are force resitant creatures that have been discovered may be not the Ysalamiri, but like I said they could come up with a story line where the scales of the Dowsen could be found as an Uber rare item. Now I think it was later that you could find Ysalamiri skin on the black market to "defeat Jedi" but as it was pointed out in the book ,it only works when th ecreature is alive.

Terentateks.....

they were in KOTOR, they were biped beasts, cross between a rancor and a porcupine, but they were thought to be only a myth, until you encounter them....They were supposed to be terrible beasts resistant to the force or something that the sith controled.....

That'd be so cool if they implemented those in the game to hunt jedi....

As much as I would like to see this I'm not shure the Dev's will introduce creatures that can not be found on the planets in game already. Now if it was a BE special quest reare schem or something then I don't see the harm in that. I would love to see an idea like this in game. Even if it was a rare spawn, there are any number of story lines that would support this, they just have to come up with one.

I am a jedi, and I like the idea off adding the Ysalamiri, also like the idea of adding Terentateks. I also sugested both of these during the testing for publish 9, but TH never responded to me . Your correspondant should push for it though, it definately would add some more excitement into duels and PvP.

Would it be really really cool to make BE/CH content by adding a few select force sensitive/resistant/blocking pets?

Yes.

Will the Devs never do it and hide behind "continuity" and turn a blind eye towards increasing amounts of Jedi and Jedi grinders while still pampering them?

Yes.
