Thread: Master Rifleman, Master Creature Handler, 4/3/4/0 Medic + PvP = ???
Seriously, if you're out to be powerful in PvP, you're going to have to give up CH and sink those points into geting master medic then getting some CM skills.
The only reason to be a CH is if you love the pets now. CHs do not have a role in PvP, althought they still bring a lot to the table in PvE, even high end PvE.
hi
i am master rifleman master creature handler, medic 4030. you cant be 4340. not enough points.
in PvP i basically suck. biggest problem is the mindpool drain and armor encumbrance to mindpool. even with buffs, blue milkand brandy it still sucks.
pets are very ineffective as people dont even need to care for them and just head straight for master. you.
in *mass* and i do mean *mass* pvp, i would imagine i would do ok since i would hang in the back and wouldnt get discovered until its too late, however due to game mechanic changes, nerfs, etc etc that kind of PvP no longer exists. last time i seen that was during the 1st month after the game launched in anchorhead and bestine. havent seen anything even remotely aproaching the same league scalewise since then.
so to sum it up, since PvP now is only small scale no, you will NEVER be good at it as a CH.
PvP in general is meant only for certain professions it seems, i would suggest a fencer/rifleman/medic combo or TKA / rifleman or BH or Commando.

sure you can i am master rifle master ch and medic 4340. master rifle leaves you with 158 points. master CH on top of that and you have 52 points left. firstaid4 leaves you with 23, then diagnostics3 leaves you with 14, and finally pharmacology4 uses the last 14 and you end up MCH MRM and medic 4340.

Also, Pire, what hallucinogenic world do you live in that a Master BH or Commando is going to fare better in PvP than MRM/MCH? MRM alone is more powerful than both of those classes combined (if you could combine them) and that's not even considering adding in some medic, or pistoleer, or other skills, or possibly using your pets for PvP (believe it or not, there are things you can do with pets in PvP). Sure, you could do BETTER if you were MRM/Master fencer, but you can still do damn well as just a master rifleman.

Possibly what I should look for in a pet for PvP?Im thinking of having 1 CL70 or 2 CL35 pets, along side 1 or 2 AT-ST's.Bruno Salieri
3 level 23 pets that have different specials that affect states. such as KD dizzy heavy duty poisons blinds intimidates etc. along with faction pets. they can cause a distraction and being BE pets take little effort to get other than the cost of paying your BE for em.
they can take the pets out first or suffer the effects either of which can indirectly aid you.
Agreed, although MCH and Master Rifleman is a great template for PvE, CH is absolutely useless in PvP even at Master.
Two main reasons are: 1) CH offers no range or melee defense modifiers, nor should it. Rifleman, for that matter doesn't have much of a defense modifier either, so you're left with only your armor, which is a major burdon on the mind.
2) Pets donot work in PvP, anyone with Armor, buffs and Melee defense can put down any pet with ease. Special Attacks never work in PvP and they only hit for a mere fraction of their max damage.
Essentially, if you're MCH and Master Rifleman, you're only a Master Riflelman as far as PvP is concerned. Rifleman isn't bad in PvP, just as long as you're secondary profession is another Elite Combat Profession which offers better ranged and melee defense. If in a large group of players, you're not completely useless as you can pick off incaps from a distance with Sniper Shot, but in 1on1, you'll end up draining your mind and the other guy will drain the rest.
