Thread: CH and BE pets. Should they last forever?
Maybe battle damage should take a bit more of a toll, perhaps pets losing say 5% of their abilities each incap.
For me another issue that needs addressing is the relative uselessness of tamed pets when compared to BE pets. I have been a MCH for a while now and honestly can't remember the last time I tamed a pet. I am now thinking off changing to BE, at least there is some money to be made from that.
Creature pets, as living things, should last as long as the players who control them.
Those who desire the sting of death to be more real for CHs, should follow their own advice, and reroll their character immediately after they wake up the the cloning center.
I sorry my friend - i think you misunderstand the comment/question. If this 'nerf' as you call it were to go ahead it would actually be beneficial for CH.
Eventually less and less new people will be joining SWG, and since a pet effectively never 'wears out' , in the end people wont need new pets , since everyone has already got one and its not wearing out any time soon.
If this were the case , who would we be training critters for? The market would disappear , making us even more 'useless'.
If however pets wore out and need replacing - like armour , and weapons (which i have to admit i have had to change several times due to them wearing out) then we will always be in a job and will always have demand for our pets.
Maybe the vitality pack should work like the armour/weapons fix -ie with a chance of complete failure, eg the pet is rendereded useless or dead?

Again , at the risk of being arguementative, i disagree!
Cats live about 14 years , dogs about the same , hamsters and gerbils a lot less , pets in real life, do not live as long as their owners?
And the point is really about the economy of the CH profession, other professions have 'tools' that were out and have to be replaced by creative professions , so why shouldn't we have a market place that keeps changing due to pets wearing out?
