Thread: CREATURE HANDLERS ARE NOT TOO POWERFUL!
My friend is a Creature Handler and I do not think he is too powerful. If anything, he could be a little stronger. When the game first came out, I'll agree thatCH's were way too powerful but now if they're limited anymore, they'll be too weak. Counting the skill points you have to put into scout to gain access to the profession, it takes 92 skill points to obtain master. There are a lot of other Master professions that can easily kill a CH, yet no one is screaming NERF to them. If the dev's keep limiting the creatures and taking away amor classes, a master CH's pets will be almost the same as a nonCH's. On top of that, nonCH's can use a CR 15 creature, when someone reaches Novice CH, they get a +15 to pet levels, but can STILL ONLY USE a 15. This doens't make any sense. I think a CH should be able to tame up to a level 70 with a max pet levels of 100 out at a time. Anymore and they'd be too powerful. Any less and it wouldn't be worth the skill points they put into it. Imperials can run around with 3 AT-ST's for just the cost of a few faction points. I know they had the advantage in the movies, but even if they only had ONE AT-ST, they would still be stronger than a Rebel with 3 soldiers. If an IMP was a master CH, they could have out 2 creatures, 3 AT-ST's, and a droid. Maybe if the dev's would limit the max number of things a person could have out to 3 TOTAL, things would get better. To those of you that are mouthing that CH's have too much power, get a different profession, or learn to use the one you have better.
They complain about CH's being to powerful.... This is just plain dumb...
I've ran into Master Commandos with 3 AT-ST's, I dont hear them saying they are to powerful.
Here is the problem.. Its Commandos and Bounty Hunters getting upset because they cant handle 2 graul maulers sending them to the cloning station with teeth marks. They want their "one shot incap", and those peskypets are in the way.
I don't think that CH should be nerfed at all. I am a commando, and don't care about one hit incapps. They are good strategic pets. It's not like it's just a few skill points to be able to use a mauler either. I had to spend 15 skill points for scout, 28 for Hunting and Exploration, 6 for Novice CH and 21 in CH to use a mauler. That is 70 points, almost one third of my skill points. I also rarely use them in PvP because I don't like to have to keep track of them, and I don't like vitslity loss.
About ATSTs, why would anyone ever use one in PvP? the only way that I would is if they made some sort of kit similar to vitality packs for robots, removing permadeath, and if they stopped lettingDamage Over Time like fire and poison affect them. Also, some sort of tool to remove wounds. Anyway, I wouldn't use an ATST in PvP, it would be dead in the flash of a flamethrower.
If the ATSTs were limited to one per Imperial Player, they woud need to bring back trading faction pets. I wouldn't need 3.
i have seen all the nerfs! since the first one for CHs, i was a novice when it happened. i think that the devs are not letting things pan out with CH, just give it some time untill we can all see the overpowers and the underpowers and bugs. They are changing Chs faster than even they can keep up with!
flurry, nikazza master CH
Other classes regularly solo all of my high level pets, including melee classes. And, TKAs plus others are getting Upgrades soon! Good grief, I really don't understand...

Also try running all around a pet, how many times does it just stop moving while treking across a planet?
For the people that are crying to nerf CH, why don't you just become one if they are too powerful, nobody is stopping you. Learn how to play the game and how to fight. People with creatures are far from invinsible.
The other problem is, that when people complain about CH's, they don't mean master, they mean all the BH's, Commando's, etc that have enough CH to field a GM, or even a GSP
In PvP, pets are practically useless. In a big group, they provide a little tanking, but mobs usually die so fast from LCC's and Flamethrowers that the pets are not really needed. They certainly do not add significant damage. Soloing and small groups is where pets are most powerfull. A Master CH can solo groups of red cons IF he has some sort of weapon skill. With the AI the way it is, fighting with 2 graul maulers essencially gives me a 20k ham with resists shield (equivlent to what? 40-50k?) before the mob even looks my direction.
If Sony changes the AI to go after the person doing the most damage, It will be a nerf to us, AND everyone else. Mobs like Krayts and Kimogilas will be alot harder to take down when as soon as you shoot it, it comes after YOU. So, those calling for nerfs will be only hurting themselves.

But it's not just bh and commando (though it's certainly a concern). You can master an elite combat profession and master ch. Right now you don'treally need to, but it's an option. Changes that limit the dabblers in some way but don't consider the elite/mch combo aren't necessarily looking at the whole equation.
