Ok, ok,I know. The sticky says that it can take 3 to 6 xp roll overs. I'm working on roll over #5 for a CL 14 Horned Krevol (whatever the hell the thing is called). It takes 23800 pts to gain a level, so I've already earned 95200 xp trying to get an L1 ability(Staggering Attack - something that stuns anyway) and still haven't learned it. Conceivably, I could end up having to earn up to 142,800 xp! That's just absurdly ridiculous. Having to roll it over justthree times would be absurd.

I can't tell you how much I hate fighting with this thing. Sometimes, for reasons I haven't figured out yet, I don't even earn any xp. I have to store the pet and re-call it before it starts earning xp again. Yes, I use it with higher level pets, use it solo, use it against same level mobs, against CL 80 mobs, against lairs, blah blah blah. It's still been a grind, and I have to level the freakin thing up at least one more time.

They have got to adjust this xp requirement. This is turning into a Twilight Zone episode it's so bizarre.

Yeah usually for me it's 2 and a half roll overs, but some times...........

My Female Narg took 5 and a half roll overs for Marring Storm L1.

Here's my pet learning ability true tale of the day.

I tame two dewback babies. One right after the other. I fight them on the same mobs, consistently.

I learn one's special ability (thick skin) just after the second rollover.

I learn the other's special ability (defensive agility) just shy of the fourth rollover.

So it's random. The second dew hasn't opened up an ability slot yet, the first one opened up one on the second rollover. Go figure.

Oh, and the second dew became mount trainable (albeit in the Shriner's Convention mode) at the third rollover.

Lol I tamed the one I had as a mount when I could and it gave me a good laugh to see my big wookiee riding it. Poor thing lol

Heh.. I'd love it if I had to earn 25k exp per rollover.. I currently have to earn over 300k exp per rollover for all the abilities I'm working on. That takes a rather long time of farming creatures that give ME no exp. (Takes even longer if I actually fight exp giving enemies since they are harder)

I must have rolled my huurton over almost 8 times now - for a level 1 bleeding attack that;s getting a little silly. But I shall persist.

Makes me wonder how long I'm going to have to fight with the Roba I just tamed to get Imperiling feint.

i am pretty convinced it's completely random. i learned self-sacrifice L1 from a murra that i didn't trigger the ability on cuz i didn't want the poor thing to incap. the only L1 fleet footed i had to learn from was a CL35 swirl prong, and i've been concentrating on low CL stuff to get L1 abilities, but once i'd learned everything else i couldfrom current pets, i'd bring out the swirl prong. he got 1 point of training xp for each mob, and more but i forget how much for each lair. i learned fleet footed from him at 41k/113k before he ever rolled over, 0 training points. what's more, the fight i learned it on, was a 1 training xp critter fight, not a lair. that could be evidence that it's number of battles and not training xp, or could be evidence that i just got real lucky.

Here is my "Twilite Zone episode" from last night. :-)
Pre pub 21 I tamed a CL10 CuPa for a friend, grew it in my datapad and mounted it for him. Last night I was going to train it for him to get the training points and slots. Post pub 21 I have tamed and fully grown a carrion spat, and if I remember correctly it took about 8-10 roll-overs for it to get fully grown.
The CuPa takes 14200 XP for a roll-over, and gains 8 training points each roll-over. So I start out, and everything is going great. The first 3 roll-overs opens a training slot, and I'm thinking "lets see if I can unlock number four or get Fully Trained, whichever comes first". After 10 roll-overs, nothing. I keep going and after 25 roll overs without gaining additional training slots or getting Fully Trained, I call it a night. Then he had a total of 200 training points, which I never will be able to use up with 3 slots. I think teaching a L1+L2+L3 ability will take something like 91 points.

Hehe yeah i hear ya there, my level 65 surefoot brackaset i plan on using as my mount, but it is gonna take like 365k or more to level him even once. But i have found doing level 80 bol missions on dantooine nets me 6500 (with inspiration buff) if i dont attack. All it takes is finding a group (or starting your own).

Does inspiration give a bonus to our pet's XP?
