Thread: Oppinion Poll: Why are you still a Master CH?
I'm still a master Creature Handler because I like my pets.
But then I've not played in over 6 months (not because I don't want to play) and don't know what the CU has done to the profession.
Hell, I've still got some dancer as well....but I think that is getting nerfed beyond recognition as well.
I just hope the game is fun when I can actually get back to play it.
Creature Handler is one of my favorite professions. I love my pets. I sometimes take them out just to play with them. I get frustrated at every vitality loss when they get killed. I made one of my characters a MBE/MCh because I feel the two professions compliment each other and I enjoy making new pets as well as taming wild babies.
I go to Kashyyyk and look at all those cool creatures there and wish that they had babies so I could tame them. That place could have been a CH dream come true with all the new and unusual creatures there, but no babies. ![]()

Same as you. I lived through the 2003 nerf, given farstar only came into existance 4 weeks before that, Im probably the oldest CH on the server, Ive never in all that time dropped a single CH skill, always been master CH.
I made a MCH on test center when they said we would get love, hes still there, waiting.
If Im forced to give up CH , I will leave the game.
I dont care for jedi, I have a second account who is a crafter , that has similar problems but I still find enjoyable as a change of pace, and CH is really the only combat profession I truly enjoy playing.
I happen to be a rifleman with it, but in reality I could be some other weapon wielder, (im a ch/pistoleer on test center for instance), CH is the bit I play for.
I'm probably one of the few people who has stuck with the professions I wanted - MCH & MRM. Ok got scout and marksman on the way up, but i've never wanted to or felt the need to master any other professions. Fun fun fun, its all about having fun, and I have fun every single time i log in.
I made a new character when Farstar came online and she became...OddWan the ch, lol - so much for trying something new.
I respecced my tailor/chef recently to BE and...CH.
I became a MCH (now only 4444 due to respec screw up :smileymad
because I loved the idea of having pets and because I primarily hunt solo. The CH prof enabled me to use my limited playtime more efficiently. I didn't need to find other players to group with in order to harvest resources and complete missions. The time it took to get a group together and organized significantly limited my ability to enjoy the game.
I've been struggling with dropping CH completely, now that it has become limited, to say the least, for hunting support. This was very evident last night while trying to start the hunting quest. Using 2 pets, along with my MPistoleer skills, I was only able to drop 1 level 82 Cannibal Dewback. I was able to pull 1 at a time, but just didn't have the firepower to do much damage, even with be pets that hit relatively hard. The second dewback incapped me 3X and sent me to cloner, I was able to rest between attacks to make sure that my pets and I were at full health before resuming the assault, but the dewback regained it's health faster than my pets. I thought it was pretty sad for a level 77 Combatant and 2 pets to have such a hard time with a single level 82 creature.
Now it's either time to use my last respec and find a new prof, staywhere I am and accept that I am but a zookeeper, or hang it up.
My pets are my friends and hunting partners. I love the concept of the CH, but not how the devs have implemented us, because of this I've decided to move on again (three times a mch so far).. I'll keep my pets in my datapad for when i return (if they ever make CH what it should be)

I wanted to be a CH since beta - and as soon as the game went live - I became one.

I was a CH in beta, as well. My only character on Live has been one since the beginning. I did change my species -- my Trandoshan Seiryuu became the Bothan Lantyssa Sei'ryuu.
My secondary professions have changed a lot, however Creature Handler has always been there and is what keeps me in the game. Without it, the game doesn't interest me.
