Thread: How attached are you to your pets?
I'm not "Attached" to my pets, but I do apologize to them when I send them in to tank a whole lair or pikets or thunes.
To me they are a meat shield, but they are MY meat shield and don't mess with them!
I am absolutely irrationally attached to them.
Ask anyone I go hunting with what happens when one gets incapped and DBd. Every vit hit is a stab to my heart.
Don't get me started gushing about my babies... I'll keep you here all night.
It broke my heart the other day when I lost vitality on one of my girls. I haven't lost vitality on a pet in a very long time.
Vitality (if I remember correctly) is how long your pet is down for. The less they have the longer.
You can get it fixed by buying vitality packs from a Bio Engineer.
Whenever your pet gets incaped and the target would have DB'd them they louse 2 points of vitality. they start at 100/100 and when vitality reaches 75 50 or 25 the pets stats are reduced to 3/4 1/2 and 1/4 of total respectivly. vitality packs restore lost vitality but some max vitality is lost each time so eventualy if you abuse your pets the max will drop below the cutoffs and you will have perminant stat loss.
As to my pets I dont throw them into a fight I dont expect to win and sence I have comando as my suport prof I'm close up anyway. usaly if my pets go down its cause I already bit the dust myself. I tend to use fast pets too so if its obvious that I'm not going to win I'll use a pet stim and run. after about 5 seconds I call my pet off and it catches up to me. sence the pet is faster than me I take a quick headstart and then we are both runin just ahead of what we were fighting and get away. I have never told my pet "Sorry Fred, you'v gota take this one for the team" cause either we both get out or neither of us do.

Completely agree with being irrationally attached to them. I am very proud of the fact that I have never had a pet lose a point of vitality even once since I started playing (which, technically, was before vitality even existed, heh). I don't PvP with pets at all, but I use them in PvE plenty including my fair share of high end mobs.
