Stand outside a town on a starter planet and run. Be wary of the NPCs that you may not want to get negative faction on.

This one point cannot be overstated.

For example, there's a little trash spawn just north of the shuttleport in Doaba Guerfel. The problem here is that there are also CorSec personnel in the area, who may from time to time wander into targeting range. A friend of mine used a macro to take on the durnis, gubbers, and butterfiles, but inadvertently targeted CorSecs as well. Her two dewbacks would run off and go after CorSecs; CorSecs being about as BAF as you can get would call in reinforcements, and the entire point of the macro was nullified as the dews couldn't stand up to midlevel NPC combat power, at least not as easily as they could take on the yard trash and regenerate between spawns...and that's the key, being able to regenerate HAM between waves of spawns. If they get incapped, they're of no use, especially if they get DBd in the process, for obvious reasons.

So the point here is find a good yard trash spawn point away from NPCs that are too difficult; I'd say anything from swooper on up is more than you should take on with a macro. The area behind the Keren starport, being devoid of NPCs, is probably your best bet for this. Most of the Tat yard trash spawn points around Most Espa, Mos Entha, and Mos Eisley are good for this as well.

Use it to your advantage, and a simpler macro. Get enough bad faction with meatlumps or whatever and stand on a spawn point with your pet set to guard you. When the NPCs attack you, your pet will usually get a hit in before your auto-attack kills it. Macro works something like this:

/target (pet)

/heal

/target self

/heal

/untarget

/pause something

/repeat

I like using my macro at Kor Vella. All around the outer limits are durni, vynock, and butterflies. Unless you stand in the Starport entrance there is no chance of random faction spawns. I could get 80K a day there easy, but then again I could use two pets back then for double XP.

Not against broad changes, just profession specific ones (read as CH) that go against what we've been told in the past.

This may have been mentioned previously, but when I went looking, I could not find one.

/ui action targetSelf;

/ui action cycleTargetOutward;

/tellpet attack;

/pause 10;

/attack;

/pause 20;

/ui action toolbarSlot##

The first pause is in hopes of getting the pet in combat within the 10 seconds and then you assisting in the death of the creature.

The second pause is in hopes that the creature has died within the 30 seconds before running again.

This macro is good to assist you in getting XP while doing other things (work, homework, nap, chores). I am getting about 100XP per critter using my 12(27) razor cat outside of Theed. Not the "cash cow" of XP that an Enraged Rancor is, but how much XP are you earning while at work?

Do not agree with you taloncard.The macro's are a great asset to the game and do not spoil it in any way. (I wish there was an official manual for macro's). Moving trough the game hunting, doing missions watching the suns go down on Tatoonie, etc, etc all lots of fun. But sometime you just need to get XP points and than macro's are very usefull.

AFK macros I meant. Technically it is a violation of the TOS

CTRL-H (just "h" for me, but I think this is what brings up the in-game help by default)

"AFK macros I meant. Technically it is a violation of the TOS"

Pardon me, but you do not know what you are talking about. The TOS is defined in the EULA. The EULA has been amended by specifying that 3rd party macroing is against the TOS, not in-game macroing - attended or otherwise.

My question is, how stupid would you have to be to

1) design a game system that cannot be used without breaking the rules

2) Think that a game system designed for one use, should not be used, and further is 'illegal'.

Um this is the Dev's we are talking about here.

The people that brought you the neverending autostore feature.
Fix one bug create 3 others
leave known exploits on the game for months then ban people for using them.
Nerf items then decide they still aren't nerfed enough (non CH BE pets)
Push things to live without full testing.
Pushed this game to "Gold" when it should really be called open beta.

So you tell me how stupid are they ?

ANd Mea culpa it was a violation of the original TOS not the 50th ammendment That is why after 30 min of being AFK it used to auto log you out.

I just made novice creature handler and I was looking at this thread in the hopes that it could help me out leveling. When poor ol Grinner is attacking those corellian butterflies for the umpteenth time it gets a bit mind numbing. So I thought hum an AFK macro that allows me to lvl up my CH and keep from going insane at the same time SCORE. However I used the macro as written in the first post and its not working for me.

I have only been playing now for 9 days so Im a bit of a newb when it comes to macroing. I was hoping some of you nice fokes could toss some advice my way on this. This is the macro as Im using it with some notes to the side.

/ui action targetSelf; #this didnt work for me I had to use /target self; to get it to work

/ui action cycleTargetOutward; # this also didnt work

/tellpet attack; #this didnt work either I used the syntax /tellpet a; "a" being the attack command I trained my pet with

/pause 10; #worked fine

/attack; #worked fine

/pause 20; #unknown as the macro is not recursing properly as I dont get a new target after I shoot the butterflies

/ui action toolbarSlot## #I used the proper syntax and the proper button number but if it recurses its news to me as I dont target anything else

Any tips would be greatlyn appreciated its just too boring to mash bugs for hours on end with my pet to xp CH, I think I need to get into a major catch and release splurge.

If you add a line to loot and a line to harvest resources, you can grab some meat/credits off of your kills while you are at it.
