Thread: Is /tellpet broken as of last night's hotfix?

I went to join up with some guildies doing missions last night, and none of my pet commands worked. I use /tellpet and it seems to be broken, I even logged my other toon and tried a /tellpet on his droid, nothing.

It was working fine for me last night, remember it's case-sensitive. If you were matching the correct case, then perhaps something else was amiss... if you continue to have problems PM me, I'll see if I can duplicate the issue.

It was working just fine for me before last night's hotfix, I'll try it again tonight and send in a ticket if it's still broke. I was having all sorts of problems getting 2 of my toons stuck in a black hole at the base of the falls in Theed so I was a bit wired last night.

I use a tell pet macro for the commands along with saying something.
I got fed up of typing attack in guild chat lol. so i did this
/pointat;
/tellpet attack;
/say Go Kill It.
This makes me point at the target and say "Go kill it" in spartal (even if i'm in guild chat) and tells the pet to attack.
I like the animations that go with it and makes it so i'm ordering the pet to do something. Rather then just using /tellpet attack which the other players just see the pet go and attack the target with no commands.

It was working for me although saying that just before I logged it didn't seem to be. I'll see again later on if that's still the case.

I've had people actually b*#^ch at me about spamming when I've used shouts or says, so I always use just /tellpet.

I LOVE /tellpet for that reason. Allows for some cool originality with making your pets respond to more interesting commands. My favorite is this... I use /dies, pause for 2 seconds until my characters thumb is completely down, and then my whole trio of pets attack.
It also makes for a little bit of fun in PvP if you tell your pets to sit somewhere and off in the distance pick a fight with somebody and after the battle starts, FWOOM! out of nowhere a couple of large predators come rushing in.

Although it's pretty embarassing when they ignore the command and you're just left there with your FWG hanging out ....

Last night after the hotfix I did on my NONCH char use tellpet on my lvl 10 banta and it was working fine.Bantha actually worked very well for me. I used iton yard trash to kill off quickly. Then I harvest for scout XP so I can become a Novice CH on that char. The game shows great balance (Yea right) with me a lvl 16 char it takes many seconds at 4444 marksman to kill the trash. My lvl 10 Bantha does 1 hit kills. I think I will let the Bantha do the work 
Much faster that way.

/tellpet has had intermittent problems since it was introduced.
commands of ONE or TWO letters don't always work (/tellpet a or /tellpet aa, for example, rather than /tellpet attack).
as ko-a noted, case sensitivity matters.
that said, I haven't seen any NEW problems with /tellpet since p18.

That's got to be the probelm I've been haiving, I use /tellpet a. I'm going to lengthen my commands tonight.
