Thread: Your Sentimental Pets
I still have Basil, my mutant basnitch... the first pet I ever tamed... way back when they were non agro critters.
Cressida
I've got five of these, but most of my older pets (the first 16 in the datapad) are there mostly due to sentiment:
Sparky, my wrix, who is currently living on a non-CH friend's datapad. My second permanent tame, constant hunting companion against the yard trash in my early CH career. Been DBd a number of times, not any good in a fight anymore, but I can't bear to release her. I'd love to turn her into a house cat.
Butch, my first GSP, tamed my very first night as a CH. Major tank with the PA as we all worked our way through our first elite professions. Much valued and beloved member of the hunting party.
Huey, my dewback, my third permanent tame, and who I trained as a mount immediately after logging in on mount patch day, and proudly rode through the streets of Doaba Guerfel that very night. What a thrill!
Osiris, my GSH, who was the first pet of a friend of mine who gave up CH to be a doctor/CM. She aquired Osiris back in early August before the cert system, and then could not bear to release him, so gave him to me for safekeeping. He's still there even though I can't call him myself.
Akheheton, her GSP, one of her early tames, same thing...she gave her beloved pet to me for safekeeping.
I have my early BE Gurrek, Fluffy at 10K HAM. A very early rendition of BE pre-4 gurreks. My other Gurrek, Sparky, also a pre-5BE12K HAM and one of hte nastiest cats I have ever had, then there is my pride an joy....a bio pre-5 Rancor named DeathOnTwoLegs. The most loyal ferocious 12.5KHAM 650-695 pet I ever have had.
But since I gave up this useless profession all I can do is look at what might have been and will probably never be.
Then there's Puddin my dewback. Well, to be precise, he's Puddin II, but his namesake had gotten too beat up to continue anymore so I let him go and tamed a new one. He still accompanies me out on missions as my trusted mount, but he doesn't fight unless I get into trouble.
Bashy and Smashy, my graul mauler duo. Since the nerf they've been resting comfortably in the 'old pets home' and are hopefully enjoying their retirement.
And then there's Suki and Hiko. The mountain dewbacks sisters. My fightin' dews. Once I hit management III and could have them both out, they were my favorite combo. Not as tough as my maulers were, but they held their own and got me through the remainder of the profession.
I have some cute pets that I've tamed strictly for.. well... being cute pets. But they've never fought for me, and so my attachment to them isn't as strong as these guys who took many a DB intended for me. I remember the first time I lost vitality on Sable and Puddin it was due to a faction-newbie-camping PvPer outside Bestine. The guy was a pistoleer MCH, and had a gaping spider hunter, toxic merek battlelord and some variety of baby kliknik with him. He toasted me with fan shot easily, and then while I cloned, his pets repeatedly posioned and DB'd my poor babies. They each lost about 14 vitality points to that SOB. I was so furious I couldn't see straight. I wanted blood. For the first time ever, I went Overt just to find him and punish him. However, some other overts had already done the job and were now having fun incapping his kliknik over and over. I didn't get the satisfaction I wanted, and now everytime I see him I think "hey, there's that a$$hole". In all fairness, he didn't do anything wrong- this was back when pets immediately got up after an incap, and could be repeatedly incapped due to poison- and he didn't incap them himself, nor did he act in a rude fashion after DB'ing me. It was just the fact that he got the jump on me (no TEF indicator back then) and had 'ruined' my babies that I wanted him dead a thousand times over.
That, and his name was ripped off from a book. I mean, how unoriginal can you get?
One of my first useful tames (Ravage), a GSP, has been my longtime partner and companion in many hunts. Still has 100 Vitality.
My other beloved pet (Bigwig), a Laviasquall, has also remained at my side to lighten the mood. He's always pining for attention. hehehe
My newest addition (a great plains stalker baby), aGreat Plains Stalker Baby, will also forever have a place in my datapad. He's the shy one. ;-)
first pet i ever had was a bio'd kahmurra. unfortunately have had to release him for more space a long time ago.
second pet was a gsp named (Skippy). still have him. never use him, but refuse to let it go.
