Petition to alter Creature Handler XP Grind
CH is an adventuring class. We transverse the planets looking for babies to hone our skills and enhance our profession. We are not MACRO-GRINDERS. A set system for learning pet abilities needs to be implemented.Macro-grinding is appalling and disrespectful for those that work hard to earn there skills while playing the game. We pay to play this game, not press a button and kill endless yard thrash! Creature Handler is not an AFK profession. SOE, wake up and smell the coffee!
At Master level, a CH should only have to roll XP for a level 1 skill once. Do we have the title of “Master” for a reason? This profession is to explore the lands with a meaning, not be subjected to endless work with bugged limited returns. We don’t have the power or skills of a Jedi, so we shouldn’t have to be placed in their work class. Give us game content, not grinding!
Example:A level 70 pet has 11 slots that can be unlocked. As a base, you’re looking at 4.4 million XP to fully unlock this pet if it opens a slot every roll. Every XP level rolled should unlock a slot on all pets, from level 1 to 70. No pet should have to be rolled more then once for this to happen!1 roll=1 slot. Did SOE forget that people work, have families, and this is a game? To cater to the elite power-gamer that will chase your dangling carrot, forces you to turn a cold shoulder on all other players. Do to your lack luster game content, players shouldn’t have to be subjected to this!
Let the examine screen show what our NEW specials/abilities (all of them) have altered on our companions. This is not Beta, this is live. I understand playing and learning is part of the game, but making us lab rats with lack of information is a slap in the face. SOE, you created the system and the game, now provide the information. Is it really that hard to do?
I post this for all my fellow Creature Handlers. We must stand strong to be heard!

these threads rarely work (unless we whine like in some of the other forums ) but consider this

in case it does work for once
I agree there must be a better way than constantly grinding, especially with creatures you dont particularly want, but need the ability. The grind to get to master ch is seconed only to jedi, why punish us with more?

I worked out that it will take me about 60 hours of combat just to fully train ONE cl70 pet. If I want to do anything else during my in-game time it will take even longer.

well said! I would even go a step further to say that as master, we shouldn't have to "roll" a pet more than 3 times max to gain ALL the slots! When I first purchased this game 2 years ago, I envisioned myself encountering some mysterious entity in the wilds and triggering some events that could lead me down a path of hard, but entertaining quests to become a jedi, and i would QUEITLY use my jedi powers for the good of the Rebel's. Although well intentioned, the original plan by SOE to make it opened by learning most of the professions in the game and rewarding people that explored the game to its fullest, once it was revealed that this was the process, it turned into a major grindfest and has yet to recover!! I gave up my niave notion of becomming a jedi by content and watched as jedi became more and more open about themselves in the game. Now it seems that all SOE can come up with is to make anything worthwhile in this game achievable only by grinding!
WAKE UP SOE and start puting CONTENT in and fixing the bugs that have remained since launch, and then worry about more expansions that will be more grinding grounds for those that would rather mindlessly grind away instead of Role playing!!! Last time I checked ,you WERE still calling this a MMORPG!!!!

And I don't have anything to say that hasn't been said yet
The XP requirements are absurd, as is the visual growing via combat. Visual growing (size increase) should be by TIME, just like in real life. You get bigger as you get older. Also BE pets should be max size out of the box.
