In Mos Eisley today and this guy comes up to me:

A guy: (looking at my pets) ohh nice
Crystale: Hi
A guy: u can give me a good like that ?
A guy: I need a good pet
Crystale: I'm not a pet service, sorry
A guy: but i mean...
A guy: not a super one
A guy: for millions
A guy: just one who can help me
Crystale: They are my pets... I'm not a saleswoman...
A guy: ure not kind
A guy: cant even give me a pet... Phaa

Then there's another girl who I'd gone out of my way to give one of my favourite pets a few days ago and she overheard me saying that I might get make a bio-engineered pet for one of my friends and she said 'I want one'. So now she's just sent me a /t:

A girl: have u got the carrion spat yet girl?

I mean, do people think we are a charity? Do they think that they should get free vehicles and buffs too? If a doc doesn't buff 'em for free, are they obnoxious to them? No they aren't. But they have no respect for Creature Handlers, we're seen as conveniences rather than fellow gamers. It's driving up the wall and making me want to remove my Master Creature Handler tag.

All I ask is for people to be polite. As long as they show at least a little respect I will do what I can to help that person out as best I can without charging anything. There are people though that will and have come up to me and said "Give me a pet" and which point I will just laugh at them and walk off.

Don't pull pets in high traffic....or wear your CH tag....

...that is the only way I see to prevent that.

I helped this girl in Mos EIsley once to train her cat and to rename it. I was nice and set free one of my new pets, my Froggy cause I had a full datapad, and what did I get for doing all this for her...NOTHING!. Not a thanks, not a tip, nothing. So I got annoyed and I took away my Master CH tag and I havent had it on again. I am happy to help people, but I would atleast want a thanks back.

I have had my fair share of people who bug me for mounts, etc. and then don't tip at all. However, I have to say that the few that do make it worth keeping my tag up. I got tipped 100k once just for training a mount. Other times its just worth it to see people ride off on their new mount and enjoying it, even if they never pull it out again. Oh well...

Since I'm on Starsider, I get /tells every now and then from Roleplayers who want a pet or something. It's cool, because they hang out in Mos Eisley Cantina and chat all day, being polite and such. For instance, an RP'er was looking for some sort of lizard to have as a pet. I informed him that Rills would be the only things he could control. He said that was fine, and since I was feeling charitable and he was polite, I agreed to look around for him. Day later, found 2 Rill babies, each a different color. Trained them and gave them to the RP'er, who was very gracious and tipped me 30k for them. (he offered another 30 since I found two, but denied, since I'm a nice guy)

For me, it really depends on the person. I tell some people to do their research before bothering me, and others I gladly help them, like above. Often the polite people want to pay me while the impolite do not. Yet I don't really want the polite people to pay since they're being so nice and the other way around for the impolite people. Ironic, eh?

I was in Theed one time with my GPS out trying to recruit for BEAST. When a Novice CH comes up to me (already in a guild), and asks if he can have my cat. I tell him that it's a rare pet and I'm not giving him away, and he wants to know what pets I will give him. Now, I'm not that old, and I don't remember telling him that I was going to give away any pets. He eventually tells me what level pet he can control (CL16) so I tell him to head to Endor to get a Cowardly Gurreck. Then comes the shocker, he asked where Endor is. So I grab a set of buffs and head out to Endor with him to find a CG. As if the never being to Endor was enough of a shock, I had to explain how to use /maskscent. At one point he goes LD, and vanishes, so I run ahead and find a CG and give it to him when he gets back.

I don't know why I even helped him, I guess I was just looking to be nice that day.

I only carry high level CH pets, so when people ask me for pets, I just tell them unles you can handel a level 40 or better then I got notthing for ya.

It's not worth the extra pet slot to carry a non CH pet, the cash just isn't that good.

I never wer my MCH tag anymore because of this and I make my character unsearchable. Why do people expect you do drop whatever your doing to go tame them a mount and expect YOU to hold it for a week till it grows, train it in all the commands to there exact specifications, go through the trouble ofcontacting them for the exchange and workingin a time around there schiduel, and only excect to pay 10k or less? It makes me sad that I have to hide the fact that im a CH.

But occasionally I do go out of my way to help the noobs. About two weeks ago I gave a CL 24 BE gurreck with AR1 60% kinetic with KD/stun specials that I paid 200k for to a MCH noob who couldnt understand why this one kitty was going head to head with her natrual rancor and winning (It was gonna be part of my pvp trio untill found out that KD dosent work). So I gave her a lesson in how to be an effective CH and sent her off with her new pet. I must say it does feel good to do a good deed now and again but lately its becomming a chore

I agree, tact and politeness are two main things missing from this game that not even the SOE can fix.

While on Tat while ago I ran across a pretty little MCH and asked her if I could pay her to mount train my bantha for me. She politely refused payment and did it for free. Then, after we had bantha races together around Mos Eisley, she gave me two great gifts and my favorite two pets in the world - my blurrg twins Pancho and Lefty.

Thank you Sweet'Rose, wherever you may be
