Yeah, and people are giving it a positive response without testing it too, so what's your point?

I've tested it, there are things I like. But the things that I dislike overshadow anything that I could say positive about the CU.

I could live with the CU if they got rid of the damage multipliers granted by level difference in combat and just gave mobs HAM / regenerations and specials fitting their level.

As it is on TC-Ep3 currently, you can beat a same-level critter with average weapons / armor / buffs, while great equipment wont help you against a higher-leveled critter, because the advantages of the better equipment get set off by the mobs damage multiplier.

If you can do with average weapons in same-level encounters but high-level equipment doesnt help you in higher-level encounters, it makes good crafting pretty much worthless. I dont expect anybody except die-hard PvPers to pay premium prices for premium crafting.

The only area where good equipment still matters is PvP, because the damage multiplier calculated from level difference is disabled for PvP encounters. Having to disable a "feature" in order to grant a fair fight should make somebody think about it, but apparently nobody did so far.

So quality wont matter anymore for a crafter, which in turn doesnt allow crafters to set themselves apart from others. Even if a crafter has great products, he wont be able to charge for better quality except from PvPing customers. This in turn destroys crafting, because I doubt there are a lot of people who craft without getting something in return for their achievements.

The crafting system in SWG set it truly apart from other MMORPGs, but by introducing the level system as it is laid out on Test Center currently, SWG crafting will be dumbed down to the same level as in other games.

So yes, I have to agree, the modifiers granted for level difference are most destructive to large parts of SWG.

As any other intelligent, well written critique to the CU by a veteran player, it will probably be deleted within the hour .

BTW I agree with yo in almost everything.

I seen garva say ppl are voting negative against CU before even testing. I have tested. Here is what I want noted by SOE

Some aspects of the CU are amazing.

The revamped professions and specials is just what the game needs.

however we dont need the new toolbar, particle effects, new bulky HUD and a level system.

Why is the level system so evil?

On the leveling system a weaponsmith or armorsmith will no longer have to strive to get those best resources. Across the board low level guns will go x dps no matter what profession and high level x dps no what what weapon or profession. The higher the level you are the more damage you deal with your weapon and less damage you take from targets.

This means that there is no need for good weapons. A simple slice will cap the DPS of any weapon, the weaponry all have same stats and do same damage. A pistol will do same damage per second as a T21. Your profession wont matter, your weapon stats wont matter and your armor wont matter. All will be the same. Balancing and making weaponry and armor generic arent the same thing.

From this weaponsmith no longer have any need to make loot made weaponry, one of the main fun parts of the profession, seeing the best weapon you an make and having the best flamer on server or whatever having your name on it means nothin now, as it will have same damage per second as a cdef for lower level players and same as a T21 for higher. Stats make no difference just your level makes a difference.

Weaponsmith and Armorsmiths now making equipment, thats all,not good, not bad, just same. No fun left in these professions.

The game itself will become boring fast. Anything 10 points or more below your level you will beat easily. Anything 10 or more over and you die easily. No "what ifs", simply if its higher than you, you will do less dmg to it and it will do more to you. Your armor will take less of the dmg and its armor will take more of your dmg.

The level systems removes the unique system SWG provided. Ive played since July '03 because i enjoy crafting andplaying. I enjoy striving to make best weaponry because that weaponry makes a difference in battle, That will no longer be the case.

Another great new possibility Thunderheart pointed out was the ability to use specials with any weapon. Imagine last ditch with a rocket launcher!!!

well say a pistol does 5k dmg with last ditch against an enemy. A rocket launcher will also do just 5k against that enemy. exciting? no, not really.

All this leaves aside all the particle effects etc as people could learn to live with those ifthey really had to. However the level system cant really be ignored.

The combat changes as i said are good, but we need them with our current combat system not a new EQ2 style level system.

I agree, I had a lot of fun just playing with templates and dueling. Once I found one I liked and figured out exactly how combat worked as far using specials and keeping that action bar up and whatnot I really enjoyed pvp. Can't say I tried pve yet though, dueling was too much fun to leave the city I haven't heard good things about pve though...

On the other hand, I found myself staring at the toolbar too much during combat, and could not actually watch the fighting much, nor keep an eye on the combat spam. Something I think would really help is to allow you to queue TWO moves on the toolbar, like maybe put the yellow brackets around one and redor orange or something around another. Also, we would need a /cleartoolbar command or something. I don't think this would be hard to do, and it would improve combat a lot.

Also, i can get used to the toolbar, but the particle effects are way too much. These need to be toned down, or better yet, disposed of.
