I did read. Your points are focused on the combat related issues, including weapons, but since this is in fact a wholesale game revamp and not really isolated to "combat," I take issue with the generalized comment about positive changes to professions, when my non-combat related crafting professions (meds) are trashed with the so-called "combat" upgrade game revamp, again - outside of the combat related professions. Other than the one statement about professions, I agree with the remainder of the post and did not say otherwise. I just commented on the part I took issue with based upon its isolated nature from the remainder of the post.

Look at all these yellow ribbons! You guys look amazing, and I'm overjoyed that this simple jesture, borrowed from a poster who's name I forget and publicized by me, has taken on so many supporters.
Yes, I also expect this thread to be deleted. They're continuing to try and hide the fact that the players don't want this game they're giving us. They're trying to hide the fact of their impending failure for as long as possible. Remember, SOE has a licensed distribution contract with LucasArts that allows them to use Star Wars content. LA wants an mmorpg, they accidentally picked SOE to publish and distribute it. If word gets around that it's going from a good-approaching-great game to a trendy clone of any other mmo, LA is apt to revoke the license and find a different distributor, all the while apologizing up and down to the wounded fan (read: customer) base.
In short, addressing the CU on Sony's forums is a bit like shouting at a brick wall, except a brick wall will eventually give you a more meaningful conversation. The only way to get anything done about this CU is to invoke the boss:
LucasArts.
They have feedback forms at their website, linking to which has been determined to be bannable. In fact, I wouldn't expect this post to live too long; GarVa is tracing my every post these days, looking for opportunities to ban or delete. Apparently my truth is a little more true than he would like. Personally? I'm honored to draw so much attention.
It means I'm saying the right things. I hope you are too.

Nice, well worded post.
I just spent an hour on there, and most of that hour I spent was just trying to figure out how the controls worked. Even the movement has changed! I could see frying the combat all the hell and back, as a matter of fact i dont care if they leave it like it is now for all eternity, or change it to what is on test center. I am a selfish person, and I just want to be able to play the game I learned to play a year ago, still learning to play in some aspects, and now, if i stay on for this CU, i got to learn it all over again.
Now I am left with the $15 dollar question... Do I want to take time to learn how to play a new game? Or do I want to go pay that cash to someone else on a totally new game, instead of this one... Might not make sense, but to me, when this thing goes live, it IS gonna be a whole new game, and I am not sure I want to learn how to play SWG all over again. If i want to learn a new game, i can go buy everquest2 or work of warcraft, you know what i mean?
Let the forum bans begin! i dont much give a **** anymore...

This means that there is no need for good weapons. A simple slice will cap the DPS of any weapon, the weaponry all have same stats and do same damage. A pistol will do same damage per second as a T21. Your profession wont matter, your weapon stats wont matter and your armor wont matter. All will be the same. Balancing and making weaponry and armor generic arent the same thing.
If that is the case then they might as well just have one race, one combat profession, and one weapon. Sounds exciting, yup, sure enough.

I was on the CU, tested it out a bit, it didn't really seem to bother me much..
One thing that did bother me was..Particle effects when you mounted and dismounted your mount/vehicle..
I'm sorry but, I haveto use sarcasm here a moment:
Do you all see particle effects when you get in and out of your car? I don't..
I'm hoping that this was just placed ont he test server to test how players run with the effects, but for some reason I dought it.
A suggestion from me would be, to have away to totally disable it..since when I was in the test server, there was no way to remove it.
Or better yet..remove it from the mounts all together, its just a little much.
