Thread: I don't care what anyone says holocron was better than tiggs

Actually I could do better, a lot better, and I think that at least when Holocron was around the focus of the game was on something, the GCW, now where is the focusfixing the garbage CU messed up? I sure am not seeing any GCW-related activity like I did 2 years ago when holocron was doing the job.
Actually, no, no you can't. I just went through your post history and it is clear to me that you write at the level of a 5th grader. I've no doubt that your reading abilities are at the same level as well. You obviously do not have the requisite intellect to do Tiggs' job.

I think what he ment was that holocron talked to us on these boards. Shared ideas and communicated.
He did. But if you want to compare roles you would have to go to Rogue5 who holds a simular position now. Tiggs is handicapped by the fact that she doesn't have the answers to the questions. Raph could talk to the players about the game in depth because he was part of the decision making process. Tigg's and TH's role is to communicate between the Development Team and the Community. Now you can fault them for how they do that but you can't expect them to have the same answers that the Creative Director of SWG would have. They can only give us the answers that the Producers have given them and allowed them to share with us. The blame for the communication breakdown falls on the producers lack of adhearance to their own policy of a Development process flow that includes In Concept which they use only when it suits their purposes and NEVER for controversial changes to the game engine.
I hate it when correspondents (or former ones) try to tell me how the different jobs of community relations work. They try to explain to me how the different jobs are either succeeding or failing at their objective.YOU GET TO READ THE DEVELOPMENT BOARDS!!! THE WAY YOU SEE COMMUNITY RELATIONS IS TAINTED!!! YOU ARE NOT LIKE THE REST OF US!!! YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHAT IT IS LIKE TO BE LEFT IN THE DARK!!! DON'T TELL ME, "I WAS ONCE LIKE YOU." YOU ARE NOT LIKE ME NOW AND NEVER CAN BE AGAIN. I PUT THIS IN CAPLOCKS SO YOU WILL GET IT THROUGH YOUR SKULL. WE GET SNIPPETS OF INFORMATION. YOU HAVE DIRECT CONTACT WITH THE DEVELOPMENT TEAM.
You corespondents (and former ones) sit back and explain how everything is fine. If I got to look at the damn development forums, I might think the same. Don't try to lecture me on how I feel about feedback when you get special privledges. Try being nerfed sometime with no line of communication to the devlopment team.
You are not like us. Don't assume you can lecture us.
First of all former correspondents can't see the development boards so your rant falls apart from the start. I have the same communication avenue you do and if your reading comprehension skills were a little sharper you woudl see that my beef is with the communication coming from the producers of the game. The difference is that I understand how it works and why directing your anger at the Community Relations team is a waste of your emotion.
If YOU were a correspondent your line of communication would be extremely one way. They don't get much more input than you do from the developers of this game that has ALWAYS been a beef of the correspondents in the program.
So learn what you are talking about before posting uninformed flames.

TBH, if I was a red name I wouldnt want to post here either. Everyone would want thier specific question answered with tons of details.
If they didnt give concrete info, they are being told they're not telling enough. If they give info that later changes, they get to be called liars. Oh what fun...

I've been on these forums as long as you have, son. I understand that you don't get access to the devopment forums anymore. That fact of the matter is that you HAVE HAD access to them.Oh, boohoo. Cry me a river that the devs don't respond to the development forums as often as you like. Jesus, I don't know how you can make it from one day to the next. The fact is that YOU have gotten MUCH MORE information from the development team than the rest of us will EVER see. This is the plain truth. With that in mind, do not come in here lecturing peoplewho have a gripe with communication from the dev team. You perception has been tainted by the insight into development that you have been given. Not all of use are "Blue Glowies." You even get a damn title that distinguishes you from the rest of us. See? See that thing next to your name? See it? It says "Blue Glowie." Is that different from my title? Yes it is. Have I been a member as long as you have? Yes, I have. I've been here from day one.Make no mistake, you are NOT equal to us. You have had special priviledges that I will never have that have given you an insight and contact with the dev team. As soon as you have never had that experience (which can NEVER happen as you cannot re-write the past), you will then be equal to us.So, go back in time and take away your correspondent position. Then come lecture me. K? Sound good? Thanks.
No..mostly it sounds like pointless drivel with a little green tinting.
We agree on one thing. You are not my equal but that has more to do with your own shortcoming than any imagined priviledges that I had nearly a year ago when I was giving up 1000's of hours of my time in support of the community of this game.

well doc, with what you're telling me there is only one real solution, fire tiggs, and thunderheart, and put the community back in contact with the actual dev team rather than these lame CSR's who got one to many promotions.
There is nothing keeping the producers from communicating more now. Your idea if it is anything more than sarcasm for effect would just result in less communication not more. The only thing that can raise the level of quality communication from the producers of the game is for them to decide to do it. It isn't like Tiggs or TH are preventing the producers from posting here.
There is something. Its the role of Tiggs/Community Relations. The producers do not have to speak because they can point to her title and salary and say 'working as intended'. She is there intended voice, I can only hope she can become more informed about the direction the game is heading. Replying I'll pass this on to the team is not effective communitcation. How many of those are followed up on? :-|
Seriously, thats why we have so few post from devs. They allow tiggs and TH to post and be the voice of the game. I like TH I can tell he actually plays and CARES about the game. The others I'm not so sure.

First off, you didn't dispute my argument which means you accept it as true. If you didn't accept it, you would have posted some sort of refutation. That's good. Makes me feel better. Now that we have that out of the way...Secondly, you gave up those hours of your time VOLUNTARILY. No one forced you to do it.Third, you got PLEASURE out of doing that work. If you did not, you would have quit the position. You do not quit. Thus, you found pleasure in it.
I refute all of your assertions because they are backed up by nothing but your own ignorance of how things really work. If someone has been somewhere you haven't you might think about trying to learn from them instead of dismissing them as "not equal" and un fit to have a dialogue with. There is no other rational explanation to your position other than jealousy. Its misplaced anyway because it wouldn't help you in the slightest even if you were a current correspodent much less a former one.
As to the last part. I quit my correspondent position nearly a year ago. You seem to blur the lines between those who still serve and those who don't. The "Blue Glowie" title is an honary title given out of respect for the hours of service that correspondents put in in the service of th game and their fellow players. Yes I enjoyed my time as a correspondent. I would do it again. Ultimately I quit becasue I was getting burned out and was contemplating leaving the game. It turned out that I was re-energized by a number of things and continued to play the game.

Blah, blah blah. You're just a sophist.
You and I are different. You have had more information than I have. There is no refuting that.
More over, you turn to personal attacks instead of refuting the argument I have given in the above line. You call me ignorant and blah blah. My argument still holds.
Finally, you argued your post previous to this one that you had put in "1000's of hours of work" and how grueling it was to serve the community. When I point out that you did it voluntarily and enjoyed it, you quickly change your story to match mine.

I feel sorry for Tiggs actually. She has to put up with a lot of crap from forum members and she probably feels like a public school teacher on a field trip with a grade school class. You're rocking the wrong boat. Tiggs is probably just a $#%$%# off with all the problems as you are, because if they didnt exist her job would be about 10000 times easier. You can be pretty certain that she informs the powers that be what the problems are, if they choose not to act on it, then theres not really much she can do, bar quitting to prove a point, but thats not going to help us, her or SOE. I get the impression shes trying to fix things from the inside, which is very admirable as it sounds like a hell of a lot of hard work. I wouldnt be rushing to fill the position.
