Information is passed on as it is had as many of you know that were in the launchpad chat last night. When there is no ETA it is simply because they don't know how long it will take. Sometimes it is hard for the engineers to give us an estimate on how long it will take to get a server back in service.
Is there any other information that you can give us like what is the problem, if this going to have an impact such as rollback or the like? This is looking quite serious if everything has been down for what is looking like over 15 hours of downtime.
No idea on a roll back yet at this time. Once we get more information I will update you.
Man i got such a bad feeling about this, we spent all day yesterday completing the hardest quests on mustafar until the server went down in the middle of the night.
There better not be any roll backs or warps that make me lose the completed quests so far and the loot/quest items i was able to acquire last night.
And just when i was about to write a nice thread about how well SOE introduced the expansion this time and how well everything has been working...
The maintenance that is going on has nothing to do with the expansion. =(
mind telling us what it is then? I'm rather angry about the fact that we get no clue what's up and when we can play again than the downtime itself.

i cant believe a company like Sony cannot goive more info out after 15 hours of downtime
It Beggers Belief!
You make a good point...
In all reality, I doubt anyone was working on your server, and the problem is just now being addressed most likely. I think its the PST team that also deals with the Euro servers, and it was after the normal workday when they took your server down.
But correct me if I’m wrong Tiggs!Message Edited by Yomigaere on 10-28-2005 09:05 AM
We have had people working on this all night and today.
you better go after em hamphsters and threatnin em with gettin BBQ'd if they dont get their arses moovin. Not to mention im gona go steal all your socks and sniff em! MUHAHAHAH!
I also know (from many years experience) that there is always an ETA - whether it's met or not, there is always an ETA

Groundbreaking news... Here is what happened: Click Me
Tiggs, seriously now. Lets say you go into a shop and buy a nice shirt. When you come home, you find a hole in it. What do you do?
Logically you go back to the store and either get your money back or replace the shirt for a new one.
Point is, paying for something that has become broken should result in some reimbursment for in this case, lost gaming time since we are paying for it.
This is not an attack against you Tiggs. I understand that you have nothing to do with this. But, you are the information individual. Isn't there some way you can go talk to people or however that works and get us some information about making this up to us?
I'm not asking for any money back or anything like that. But as I mentioned in an earlier post, double xp or whatever those that are bosses and decition makers on this subject can come up with.
I hope you bought the costumes for your kids since this seems to be a long day for you!

The game has been down since 3.30am - 4am ish... This is exactly a whole day gone for europeans...
Very sad

Tiggs, thank you for some kind of answer. However if it is Maintenance it is planned and should be properly scoped in terms of man hours, if only to budget for your human resoource. You should know howlongmaintenance will take. This appears as if it is NOT maintenancebut you are responding to an unplanned issue. Issue resolution I can understand being open ended. However, this is no excuse for not having a DR (Disaster Recovery)plan.
This is an emergency maintenance that is on-going as stated on Launchpad and the announcements section of the forums.

Tiggs: We are NOT closing the euro servers permanently
Correct, we are NOT closing the Euro servers down. It is just an emergency maintenance that is taking place.
