You know, I am sitting here reading all of this and it is all very interesting stuff. What's quite frightening is that according to many online sources, SWGs subscription is at an all time high! This would be further evidenced by the "High" and "Very high" traffic monitors in the character creation area. Their little gamble seems to have paid off in the short term. Now whether they can keep all these people around for more than a month or two, that will be the real "Jedi mind trick"!

Oh SOE got a boost.According to them they went from 250k to 255k. That is far from an all time high (300k+ at launch). Andthe fact remains that places that used to be teeming with other peeps are still all but empty most of the time. About the only exception to that rule seems tobe the mining outpost on dant. But even that seems to have dropped off a bit.

No they got some growth with questionable sustainability. Seeing that they have alienated the casuall player, veteran player, and everyone not associated with combat. Well things might be looking grim. Especially since they have demonstrated the knack ofalienating the people who still care enough to test the game.

I for one gave them 30-days. In fact, ive given them LONGER than 30-days. M-I-S-T-A-K-E. I can't even get into the launchpad now. The computer dosnt even think of openening up the swg directory. I asked for help, no help from a SWG customer rep at all. (I say SWG, because the rest of soe's service is actually decent....but not SWG's service, my 5yr old cousin can do better then this.) account expires august 14th.

This is a very good and constructive post for the most part an answer from anyone in soe would be great....I am noticing that alot of promises have gone unfullfilled lately and it is sad....I ahve tried many other mmorpg's and none have been able to bring the content and the.... type of play that this game has brought. I love this game and that is why it hurts to see that such a great game could have such......lack of concern about keeping their word to the customers or even listening to the customer when they ask a question in a contructive manner. Needless to say I will still be here as I have stuck it out to this point but I just wanted to post my voive to this matter.

I began playing SWG when the game first went live. Yes it had plenty of bugs then but with each patch some bugs were fixed, other bugs ignored, new bugs were added. After about a year of playing I just grew tired of the game completely so I left, cancelled my account, moved to another game. I picked it up again a short while after to see the state of the game, and found it to be even worse... this was all pre-CU. So I was browsing IGN.com and was shocked to see that they gave the combat upgrade a good rating. I checked the forums and found a lot of people dissatisfied with the combat upgrade, however the changes were enough for me to renew my account. Now I figured my character would be deleted, it had been well over a year since I had last cancelled my subscription, but my character was still available. I liked the combat upgrade and the new content, but found the game to have even more bugs than when I last played. Now some professions like squad leader, ranger, smuggler, etc... need a complete overhaul. Also there are Jedi everywhere! Ok now I am a MBH yes, and I don't want it to sound like im complaining about Jedi, if you put in the effort for it then good for you, but it's disappointing to see them everywhere you go.... one of the main things that attracted me to this game was the fact that the Jedi population was going to be small and kept in check. Permadeath, exp loss in pve, blue glowies, tef's for using a lightsaber... at this point in the timeline of the movies the only force users are Vader, the Emperor, Yoda, and Luke. I just hate the fact that the Jedi population has gotten so big, I liked the fact the game was in a timeline with the movies.

Now there is publish 19.... more bugs released, some bugs fixed, many bugs ignored. It's frustrating when you walk into a cantina and have to spam /watch or /listen and it keeps saying you are too far away even though you're standing in front of them. We all know about the slicing changes..., professions are stillignored, the combat upgrade is still bugged, GCW??? what is that?

I left the game for these reasons, and here I am 2 years later and these reasons haven't been resolved and new reasons appear everyday. I plan to stick around for a long time this time, because even in the time I did not play SWG I still frequently checked the forums and such because I care about this game. I am proud to be a member of this community, sometimes it can just be frustrating. I am forever grateful that I've been a part of it for so long and that there even is a community, it's great. I just wish that SOE would focus more on QA and testing before release, but I do remember the beta forums... most people said then the game was not ready for release.

SoE gets no credit from me. The pet bug was known over a week before it was pushed live. You, me, SoE and everyone else knows that if a bug was loaded that caused all lightsabers to drop to 5-20 damage. The servers would be brought down, rolled back and code removed until it was fixed. Was this done? No, pets had to wait 2 days to get fixed, and 2 more days before Elite pets were fixed, and some are still broken. This shows SoE couldn't care less about us. Tiggs asked for 30 days to get the CU straightened out well, Tiggs your time is up. In the last programming company I was in you would have been fired for lying to customers and extreme incompedence. Tiggs doesn't deserve to be the Community Relations Director, we need someone that cares about the players and the game.
