Kudos on the new front page. I see the star rating system is gone too. Never liked it in the first place.

It doesn't work on Opera IDing as Opera; it's like you're not sending the CSS and graphics. The layout is vaguely correct but there's no spacing, colors, etc.
Looking in Firefox, I see that the layout itself is OK. The board groups aren't very well set off from each other; with the category text is the same size as the board name text it's hard to see the divisions and find what you're looking for. I would definitely put the category names in a larger font size. Also, listing some but not all of the boards might lead new people to think there aren't any others in that category.
Moving the bookmarks to the bottom means I don't have my quick links to the couple of boards I actually use.
Is there supposed to be more text after the number of boards in this category count? The comma seems to imply that there is. (Ex: "38 boards," on the Professions line.)
Switching to Verbose mode: I like this better, though the categories should still have larger text so they stand out more and the bookmarks should be somewhere more useful, like between Announcements and My Quick Stats.
Hope this helps!

First impression: "This isn't useful! It's jumbled and I can't easily pick out the things worth reading."
Going to explore further.
Edit:
Second Impression: Let's see what I can customize about this... Very little. I thought Verbose did what I wanted it to, but no. I want to see the most recent thread on the front page so I have to do fewer clicks to see what I want. Telling me only how many messages and how many unread messages is useless. More clicks to see what is up is wasteful.
Search bar - rarely use it, best at the bottom.
Profile viewable on right - I never care about those stats, no need to see them all the time.
Quick links - All the stuff that I use from that list I can use in 1 click from the old layout. Redundant.
Notes - Don't care
Friends - Don't care
Users online - Don't care
Top boards - Don't care
Bookmarks - Don't use it, don't care
Subscriptions - Ditto
I'll play around some more. Maybe there's useful customization that I'm not seeing.

Personally don't like it.. Wouldn't mind if it stayed, only if we could have the option to keep the original format.
- Reasons I dislike:
- Most importantly: Can no longer see at a glance the most "current" thread posted in that forum without going to that board. (even though it wasn't always the latest, it was a fairly new thread)
- Why only 10 subcategories listed by default? With 38 professions and 26 galaxies/trade why not set the default higher?
- Even with subcategories set higher so we can see all professions/galaxies, what's the deal with the organization? It's not alphabetical or in any order at all. Hopefully this is an oversight that will be fixed?

I really like the new setup, but I'd like to see an option to be able to choose which Profs, Galaxies, and Trade forums appear on the homepage. It appears we are limited to ten under each, and for those of us whose servers or professions are not listed on the front page, it would be nice to have the option to pick which ones we want there.

I really dont like it.
It looks like an index page, or a sitemap page, NOT a main front forums page.
This is a another step forward, that brought us 10 feet backwards.
We need to have the old one default, and have this a skin/addable preferance.
Also, the professions and galaxies folders are no longer in alphabetical order, this needs to be fixed.

Most of the time, whenever a forum makes big changes like this I end up hating it. It an effort to streamline and have new features, things invariably get more confusing. But, this time I really like it. I like that it's concise, I like the top board stats, these little pieces of trivia amuse me. I like the moderator tracker thingy or whatever it's called. I was confused at first about the fact that there were only a fraction of the professions listed. But, when I realized I could just click on Professions, it wasn't confusing anymore. All in all, I really like it and hope we keep it.
PS. Is there any particular rhyme or reason why the professions or galaxies listed are picked?

I don't like it. There are no quick links to patch notes, in live and dev tracker.
